Well, it is just a movie and perhaps we should ask the producer or director why that particular scene was put in.
Sure doesn't shine a good light on the rest of the American soldiers, who would rather not have been there at all......don't know.....

Perhaps it's just unfortunate that these kinds of painful and heartbreaking things do happen in real life...

Of course, but we still swat gnats and swallow camels. Imagine if Cops didnt have gang violence to deal with, perhaps we could train them to more kind and gentle. I dont know brother, its just something to consider.

Consider gangs wouldn't have to be violent if the police commissioner and the rich guys who appointed him, weren't rich because they kept the gangsters poor.
Not that all gangsters are Robin Hood, but you get my drift.

Of course, i believe battling Gang violence means helping those involved in Gang activity by helping them live more peaceful and productive lives. I suppose it means that they need given opportunity as well as an awareness that Gang life is not good for them or anyone else.
