Anyone else have all the Sky Angel channels?Trying to find exciting programming 4 ds

We just got Sky Angel this past month.

We are hoping to find some Christ centered programming for our son, who will be 6 on Friday. But, so far everything he's tried he thinks is boring. We've only sampled a handfull of shows, so surely there are some out there he'd be interested in. I think the ones we've caught so far are for a younger age group. I figure there must be something we're missing during times we're not watching tv, so if I could find something good I'll just record it for him to watch later.

Does anyone know of any programs they'd recommend?

I wish I could help, but we signed up for sky angel and cancelled it after the first month. A pastor I knew said they had it and all there kids would watch was the music channel. Which by the way I watched and didn't see too much difference with mtv. We don't really watch tv anymore. Except of course veggie tales. They do have a schedule of programing on there website.

For me, I'm not a big tv guy so it was not an issue, but my wife wanted it and she didn't like it. She said the movies were all ancient black and whites and everything else was preaching. It would be awesome if you were bound to your house and watched the teachers on tv. It just wasn't all it is cracked up to be in there advertizements and we didn't want to waste the money. Now we have just 4 local channels with the antenna and that's just fine. Did I mention that I'm just not a bit tv guy(I hate the mind sucking/time wasting thing).

I have to say I could live without tv most of the time too, but my husband is a tv nut so I figure sky angel would be better than the garbage we have to choose from now.

My kids' favorite shows are Superbook and Flying House. They also like Critter Gitters. I think Superbook comes on at 6pm Central Time and Flying House comes on right after that. I'm not sure when Critter Gitters comes on. Check the programming guide at www.skyangel.com. I also recommend ordering the programming guide magazine for $24.00/year if you haven't already. It's worth it to not have to log on to the net everytime you want to look something up especially if you have dial-up. Not all of the movies are ancient black and whites either although I do admit that a lot of them are. I've seen "The Ride" and "Road to Redemption" and thought those were pretty good. I've also seen a couple others whose titles elude me right now. You have to pay special attention to your program guide to find the good stuff. The do have some really good specials. We just watched Ken Davis (Christian comedian) this past Saturday night and he's coming on again this Saturday night, too. We think it's well worth it and it sure beats the garbage you get on the regular networks.

I'm not impressed with the music channel either. I'm glad my kids aren't old enough to care about that kinda stuff yet.

Sky Angel did anounce the other day that in March they are adding a new music channel that would appeal to the 25 to 35 crowd... I'm looking forward to that for me (something good to put on while doing chores around the house). I don't care much for TVU either... guess I'm getting old :lol
