Nope... the idea I am working on is the Earth. You might nlwantnto talk destruction.... I don't. And it appears as if you don't even qualify for this discussion under the OP request for an open mind.

You solicited folks to share THEIR unique perpectives, albeit with an agenda. You don't get to judge my mind. I'm open to any revelation, which I get to judge for myself.

I think what you really want is to persuade folks. I have no desire to persuade you-- I couldn't care less about what you think beyond your request.

If you didn't really want folks to share, why ask them to?

Do you have any proof to back your claims?
The modern church in America and the status of Christianity in Europe since 1033. Just a few highlights off the top of my head:
  • 10th Century: End of ONE CHURCH, beginning of Schisms
  • Middle Ages: Islam, Crusades, rise of Church-States, sale of Indulgences, Political Corruption within the Church (multiple popes)
  • 15th Century: Reformation and splintering of BODY OF CHRIST into infinitely subdividing factions [forbidden by Paul]; Christians burning Christians for "heresy".
  • 17th Century: rise of Deism. God absent from Church and non-essential generally acknowledged.
  • 19th Century: Birth of dispensationalism and endless "PERSONAL" speculation about mysterious secret knowledge of future events ... a rebirth of Gnosticism merged with Spiriualism. Also, "biblical Scholarship" begins to attack scripture as "believable, inspired, and authentic" openly. God becomes "unknowable" to most people.
  • 21st Century: Churches openly embrace hedonism not seen since Sodom and Gomorrah. Female Lesbian Clergy ordained by mainline denominations are performing same-sex weddings for congregations of "Christians" that openly embrace what scripture calls an "abomination". Survey after survey reveals virtually no gap between the views of the world and the views of the Church. Catholics are pressuring Rome to add a fourth member to the Godhead by adopting as Co-Remptrix, the "Mother of God" and "Queen of Heaven".
Is that an upward progression of a Church growing more Christ-like, or is that Satan unchained raising an Antichrist for the world to worship in place of the true Christ?

[For the record, you requested wild speculation, so I offered wild speculation. My PERSONAL OPINION is that EVERYTHING is going exactly according to God's unchanging plan. Jesus will return just as He left (like the angel said He would) and I intend to follow His word as best I can until then ... whenever THEN is.]

You are incorrect. I didn't ask anyone to share their ideas. I don't judge your mind but your ability to read is a different matter.
I think what you really want is to persuade folks. I have no desire to persuade you-- I couldn't care less about what you think beyond your request.
Again you are incorrect.
I didn't request anything.
You presumed.

I didn't ask them to. You apparently didn't read the OP.

ah..... more semantics. You "were looking for people with a unique eschatology" but you didn't want anyone to talk about it.

Got it.

Just take the "L" man. Move on.

So, you began this thread. What would you like for the rest of us to do with it? Are you wanting to air your own viewpoint and get some feedback? Or do you have some other goal in mind? [Honest questions here...]

What do you want to achieve here?

When you posted THIS title:

Anyone else have a unique eschatology?

and THIS OP:

Just that.
I am looking to see if there are people with a unique eschatology AND are open to changing their minds.
I put a bit of a twist on the end but there you go. I can't be the only person with a unique (in my opinion) eschatology and still approach eschatology with an open mind.
My particular flavor of eschatology is pre-trib post-mill rapture. Who out there is also an odd duck?

Were you REALLY just looking for a simple "YES" or "NO" response?
[NOBODY that responded seems to have understood you that way, so the flaw in communication must be with YOU.]

If a YES/NO is all you really wanted then ...

Anyone else have a unique eschatology?

"No." - atpollard

Honestly thanks for asking!!!!!

I want to see how many people have different(non mainstream) eschatological ideas and also have a mind open to change.
That is my purpose with the thread.

If people want to give a example of what they believe I will challenge them and see if they are in fact open to change.
Then if I find it necessary I will start a more specific thread and invite those who are open minded.

I feel alone(eschatologically) in the world and wonder if there are others out there like me and then maybe we can talk about a topic of interest.

YES!!!! I am looking for a yes or no answer. Maybe a short eschatological explanation (no dissertations please)
Maybe my autism does not allow for all the social graces that others enjoy... but until now no one has asked a question like this to clarify.
Thanks for your response... I will ask nothing else of you on this thread.... unless you come back with another point.

PS. You requested it RIGHT HERE:

(again, a request for Proof is implied rather than a simple YES/NO response.)
Implied... by you... not me.
You also glossed over the first line of the OP... "Just that."

If you were confused why did you not ask a clarifying question before now?

I've found that my beliefs are constantly evolving (it's why I'm here) as I learn more. So in keeping with the stated topic, it would help if you gave us those views and details on why you feel that way.

Though I'd also say if you are literally the only one who holds your eschatological views, then you should examine them closely; there is no private interpretation. (2 Peter 1:20)

Ok. That makes sense. I too feel like I have a very unpopular view of Revelation.

So, what do I currently "think" about Revelation? In brief, I tend to think the whole book represents all of human history in capsulized, metaphorical and/or symbolic terms; that is, they represent actual, historical events that happen or will happen in the real world. I don't tend to think Revelation is a set of mere "spiritualized allegories." Maybe my current view could be seen as a sort of Historicized Pre-mill interpretation, but to say this is to be too generic about it. I also don't hold to it dogmatically.

Ok. So, what would you like to challenge me with?

That would go beyond the purpose of this thread.
I would love to share what I think... but that would be premature in a hostile environment like this.
I would prefer to sound out if there are people who have non conventional ideas but are flexible and then begin a conversation among less hostile posters.
Though I'd also say if you are literally the only one who holds your eschatological views, then you should examine them closely; there is no private interpretation. (2 Peter 1:20)
I ain't interpreting anything... that is where I differ.
So I have no private interpretation so Peter and I don't have a problem.

Challenge..... hmmm.
How about how Revelation is a one of a kind book of the Bible.
I would say I am a Pre-Trib Post-Mill Rapturist. (Have you heard that one before?)
Do you think that John had any input into Revelation?
