  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Anybody else learning korean?

Hi; have you gotten a Korean Bible yet? If you read John chapter 1 in the language you are learning, John 1 being a passage which has simple and clear language anyway, you may gradually be able to follow the structure of what is being said.

I don't have one actually. Tried reading it online now and all i could understand was 'God'. But if i keep on reading it, i think it will really help me with fluency and learning a lot of new words. Thanks

Good effort; perseverance is good! (and if it's the Bible you're reading, it can be a blessing also!) :)

I just read the bible in English, might use my lexicon but that's about it. :)

I am learning korean.
But I am a lazy learner.
Reading a Korean Bible would help! John chapter 1, for example, has clear and familiar language which might be fairly straightforward to follow.

The Hangul characters are also phonetic and quite straightforward. (It's the politeness inflections in Korean which are, I believe, more complex, right?)
