  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not a fan of anime but these movies are animated perfection if you ask me. The beautiful animation (the best I've ever seen), the great scores, the themes like Nature vs. Man, and Sacrifice make these movies incredibly poetic and wondrous. My favorite is probably Castle in the Sky, but really I'd like to buy them all. The ones I still need to watch are Totoro, Nausicaa, and Kiki's Delivery Service.

Any other fans around here?

Hey I watched Spirited away at the weekend and Princess Mononoke last night! I just LOVE Spirited Away!! It's like a slightly darker and more sinister version of Alice in Wonderland but not without it's light-hearted and funny moments. I remember I went to see it at the cinema and there were loads of families there with kids and they must have been thinking it was going to be like Finding Nemo or something. It's not necessarily for kids though it is probably more geared towards a western audience that Princess Mononoke. I found it quite different and much more aimed at a Japanese or anime audience. I thought it was really good too though.
