Any Degrassi Fans?

Does anyone in the US know when The N is going to air the rest of Season 4?

I like both the new and the old. I know what you mean about liking a show marketed towards teens... but its still pretty decent. (Ever notice all the KD adds in the first season? In peoples lockers and such...) I don't think its all that realistic but its still interesting.

I love Degrassi... I also like RFR. And I was wondering the same thing DiscoGirlie. I really hate how The N doesnt really show every episode, I have to talk to Canadian people online to find out what's going on.

Have you heard about the Secret episode? I'd heard they might not be airing that either. What irritates me is that The N has no problem airing episodes with other controversial topics, but the network apparently thinks Accidents Will Happen and Secret are just too much for the American audience to handle. But The N edits alot of stuff. Just watch reruns of Daria.

I love Degrassi! I first discovered the old episodes back in junior high (when the series was already eight years old!). I was flipping channels, and I stopped at this show. It was the Junior High episode where Stephanie Kaye got intoxicated before going to the school dance. I thought, "Hmm...reminds me of my classsmates. I think I'll watch this!"

After that, I was hooked on it. I have watched both the originals and the new series, and while I like both, the original was far better, IMO.

Btw, has anyone here ever seen the Degrassi movie entitled "School's Out"?

Does anyone know the name of the second song that plays during the 80s dance in the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" episode? This was the one where Emma and Manny crashed the dance. The song played in the scene where Jimmy and Spinner were arguing over the break dancing contest? And if you know the name of the artist and where I could find lyrics, that would be awesome!

Yes! I love it!! Every spring showcase puts it on. Most of the time I've been lucky enough to catch it. I want to see if I can get this on dvd. Which shouldn't be too hard now since they are releasing classic Degrassi.

I have some bad news for all you impatient US Degrassi fans. I got this calendar from Aeropostale. If you shop at Aeropostale, you may already know that they partner with The N to do promotional stuff. In this calendar, it said that Degrassi wasn't returning until June. Oh the torture!

OK people, July 1 is the big day...The N will finally show the rest of Season 4. A few weeks before that, they're airing more Degrassi Unscripted episodes featuring Stacey Farber, Aubrey Graham, and Melissa McIntyre. There could be other profiles, I'm not sure. Mark your calendars!

It really does but the characters on this one are just as good as the older Degrassi characters.

The new season starts on The N next week. Until then, The N is airing a special about Degrassi's history all this weekend. And for anyone who misses the orginal or those who never saw it in the first place (that's me!), The N's also showing original Degrassi eps after the season premiere next week! 8 days and counting...

The "Kids of Degrassi St." made me a lifelong fan, no matter what incarnation the show takes I'll watch it if it's on! I can still remember my teen heart melting when Joey and Caitlin finally got together!

Degrassi, Old School: My Observations:
1. Alot of people said TNG uses recycled storylines. As I watch, I can pinpoint parallels between the old and new eps.
2. The new series definetly has more polish. Better acting, better production. But then again, I remember reading somewhere that producers in the old series used students from the Toronto public schools...students who weren't professional actors.
3. They showed an episode that mentioned a storyline similar to TNG's "Accidents Will Happen." You all know what's coming; if The N can show that old episode, there's no reason why they can't show "Accidents Will Happen."
4. How is The N getting away with calling the whole Degrassi franchise an original series?

Degrassi is so cliché. You just KNOW someone is going to get pregnant, shot, raped, suffer from bullying, become anorexic, cheat on a test, etc - all in one season. All these cliché teenager problems that are as dull as a marshmallow.

So next week the N is airing the season finale where everyone graduates? Does anyone know if Degrassi's been picked up for another season or is the finale the last episode?
