  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Any creationists left?

Ok, before this gets out of hand. NO ONE has ever been kicked off of here for holding creationist views--NO ONE-NOT EVER. Be careful as this thread progresses not to violate the rules.
God Bless

Many have left because the moderation in this forum seems skewed. Not to making any comment about any moderator myself, but as the YEC moderators on this forum rarely post, it does APPEAR that way.
In general, TE's think YEC's are uneducated, reasoning that IF YEC's were smarter, they would accept evolution.
In general, YEC's think TE's are unspiritual, reasoning that IF TE's were more spiritual, they would accept biblical creation.
Both sides feel the other side has not looked objectively at the evidence for the other side. In this, I think both sides are right.

And at the end of the day, we are all still Christians (and come back for more). Amazing, isn' it.

Many of the YECs or on other forums that are set up to encourage fellowship rather then contention. It has been my experience that Christians often shun the kind of debates you get on most discussion boards.

I support creation all the way. For one thing, in Genesis it says that he created all living things according to their kind, and in addition it says "So God Created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them" (Genesis 1:27). It doesn't say that He created something to evolve into His own image. =)

I'm one! I believe the Bible from Genesis 1:1 through to the end of Revelation!

I just come off a YEC forum, where a load of guys have been chucked off this forum for holding Creationist views (their words, not mine!) so I was wondering how many creationists are actually left here?

I'm a firm YEC'ist. I cannot recall who quoted this, but it's one I love:
"I not only believe every word in the Bible is true, I even believe the leather is genuine". :)

As for the departure of any YEC brothers, I imagine there comes a time when you must dismiss the topic in front of a repetitive crowd of naysayers. My own experience on other forums when discussing ET versus Creationism is you invariably end up with 4 or 5 self-professed ET experts (actually experts of the cut and paste from talkorigins.com) who preemptively discredit any rebuttal not offered by a PhD or equivalent scientist who has been published in a "peer review" (ET biased) journal - a standard they themselves are exempt from of course.

Ultimately, since creationism is not necessarily an essential doctrine for salvation, one wearies of the effort required to counter the willfully ingnorant. Instead most YEC'ers, being more closely aligned with faith-based ministries, find far more satisfaction in other non-origin related apologetic forums where the subject at hand is personal salvation.

I'm a firm YEC'ist also, ever since reading "Did God Create in Six Days?" edited by J. Pipa, Jr. and D.W. Hall.

The books ends with:
"Then sings my soul, my Savior God to Thee, How Great Thou Art, How Great Thou Art!"

Pick me! Oh pick me! I've spent a lot of time over in those debate forums, mostly to improve my walk and to cultivate friendships with non-believers. I've tried reading up on evolution but when I do I get such a sick feeling. It just goes against my very core being.

I'm a creationist, I just don't frequent this area of CF all that much. I stand firm in my belief, conviction, understanding, and knowledge the evolution did not, does not, will not, and can not occur. God created the Heavens and the Earth, and I believe the Bible shows He did that several billions of years ago, without a gap between Gen. 1:1 and 1:2. I actually get pushed out of here, figuratively speaking, because I am neither YEC nor TE. :sigh:
