  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I mean I get the book but the author just droned on so long it took so much reading to get anywhere plot wise just...why?

My husband maintains it had to do with being stuck in the house in New England winters. Although as a recovering Calvinist, I think Calvinism was a factor as well. ;)

Have you ever read Ethan Frome? Well it's worse, so don't.

It's so tedious I'm not sure if I need a nap or a colonic.

Uh sorry that was probably TMI...

It is true the pace of life has sped up though, and it makes it difficult for modern readers to read more slow-paced works.

I have heard of a similar show to that called banged up abroad. And you are right. People will go to extraordinary lengths to make money even if it involves endangering their own lives

Yeah, Banged Up Abroad is the British version of the show.

Not sure why we needed two shows, but whatever, lol.

Anyways..

Spent the whole night throwing up, and shivering severely.

I was actually scared I might die.

Yeah I was thinking of going to the ER. But I could barely move as it is.

Strange, it all happened in under and hour. Feeling fine for one minute and close to death on the other. I don't think I've ever had a reaction quite like I did last night. Oh well, I'm recovering now.

Or maybe the pollen count, which was over 1000?

(How did I miss we live in the same city?)

No. It was a definite illness. Maybe contracted by things on the car (makes me think a lot of people spit, could have picked it up then), anyway I almost died - my ears and eyes still ache time to time to date.

Man, I am totally beat. Completely exhausted. My usually desires have flattened.

I don't even know if I can deal with it anymore. Perhaps my eyes have opened up too much.

I'm dreading Sunday, because it's the first time in 24 years that I will attend a Easter service without being a Christian. I decided to go to the service with my husband and children because we have never missed one together before in past years. I know I'm going to feel very uncomfortable and more out of place inside the church building than usual. I stopped attending church with my family some time ago, not just because I was moving away from my faith, but also because of my poor health. I haven't discussed my change of spirituality with my children or the rest of my extended family yet, only my husband knows within my family. My father in law is a retired pastor, so I have no intentions of telling him and my mother in law anytime soon. I don't feel strong enough in my newborn spiritual path to face that kind of opposition yet. I don't know how I'm going to get through Sunday, without being a total emotional basket case on Monday.

How would you describe your new spirituality?

How would you describe your new spirituality?

With all due respect to you, my friend, I don't talk about it in detail, because it is personal, not to mention that this is a public forum. I don't want my spirituality to be exploited and berated by other people, particularly by someone who is Christian. I will say that I am walking the Red Road and I will leave it at that.

The last movie I watched was "Frogs" where animals killed people in goofy ways. I'm not sure how a normal frog kills anyone, I dont care if there is 100 bull frogs they wont kill you! One guy dies from poison the Iguanas knock over in the green house, but who keeps poison gas in the green house?
