I think you will agree that killing has a context. That had a context. God know the hearts of men so being directly guided by him means I can kill Stalin , Hitler or Pol Pot before they act.
Israel had a purpose. They were the only link between God and humanity and it was maintained through the law. Any threat to that was Gods purpose to stop.
Now we are not to intermarry non-Christians just like Jews were not. However why? Because of our faith. Jews had the seed of faith decended from Abraham and the reason was the same.

I don't know about the just war. Even to argue in its favor I have not seen one fought by this country since the civil war. But in that case it was financed by Lincoln's greenbacks in the North and the London bankers lost a bundle in their Confederate loans. It was an unusually unprofitable war.
