  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What, aliens built Noah's ark now? I'd figure both creationists and evolutionists would disagree with that.
^_^ ... No wonder some creationists and evolutionists waste so much computer ink.
They assume to know what's inside by the way it is gift-wrapped. :liturgy:

Yeah I do. I will never mention the Flying Spaghetti Monster in association with the trinity ever again. I just wish you guys had just asked me to change my signature instead of permanently banning me first.
Making socks when one is banned is also illegal. ^_^
Please go back to your thread.
We should resolve this today.
Thanks,
Ed

Well, the "ancient aliens" and "conspiracy" parts kind of let you know where the thing is going.

But it is not about aliens nor conspiracy.

So far most of the people here judge the book by it's cover. :)

I never claimed to be an expert in these debates.
I said so from the beginning. I could have used a rendition of this video outside of the Ancient Aliens series.
There is a Christian version, secular version.
I chose this one so people would not say I am partial.

Here is a good resource for those wanting details of the frauds that Ron Wyatt perpetrated on well meaning people.

Ron Wyatt Archaeological Research Fraud Documentation (WAR, W.A.R.)

"As to Ron Wyatt's organization being non-profit and as such having no investors, I spoke to businessmen and television producers who have invested money into Wyatt Archaeological Research for television rights. There have been many tens of thousands of dollars invested in WAR. To date, none of those who invested this money has seen a shred of scientific evidence substantiating Ron Wyatt's claims. Where is the report from the blood sample analysis of what Ron claims is the blood of Jesus Christ? Where is the Ark of the Covenant? Which museum is housing the ancient chariot wheels he claimed to have been from the Red Sea Crossing? There is no evidence because the video is a fraud. On the Noah's Ark video, all the so-called scientific data cannot be duplicated, a clear sign that what was given the labs was false data. (Read John Baumgarten's and Tom Fenner's letter)"

The answer is they already have a preconceived idea, websites, and such that the Bible is "wrong" or Christianity is an bad thing.

So they would not even look inside on the Bible.

All they know are the "bad" parts that some websites collected just for them.
As I said, not very interesting to me.

We need to learn how to make a judgement based on what WE see, what WE hear, what WE know, not how it if gift-wrapped. :)
I already know how to make judgements based on what I hear, see and know. And one of those judgments is that people like Wyatt are frauds.

No stoning please ... and no staplers either.
I am not an expert in archaeology, nor scientific debates, nor anything like that.

I saw this UFOTV edition on finding the Noah's Ark by Wyatt.

They are not presenting this from religious point of view.
They are looking at the evidence and comparing what was found with the Bible and other religious books.

They are also dispelling right from the beginning some of the disinformation claims about the discovery of the Ark.

I watched the whole thing and was amazed.
It fits the exact way the Bible described it.

I am not a specialist on this topic.
You are. :)

Does this make sense?

ANCIENT ALIENS: The Noah's Ark Conspiracy - FEATURE FILM - YouTube

If it is shown to be untrue I just close the thread and go away mumbling to myself not to believe YouTube videos. :liturgy:

Thanks, :)
Ed

Dear Ed, It's not true to Scripture and doesn't make sense because Adam's world was "clean dissolved" in the Flood. Isaiah 24:19 Our world was NOT destroyed in the Flood. It doesn't make sense to search for a 450 foot covered Ark, the size of an Oceanliner, on top of Mt. Ararat or Mt. Judi. The Ark arrived in the mountains of Ararat in Lake Van, the largest Lake in the mountains of Ararat and Turkey. Otherwise, the people and animals would have been killed when the Ark broke apart on the Mountains, some of which are more than 16k feet tall and covered with snow.

The film also falsely supposes that the Flood, which completely destroyed the world that THEN WAS (ll Peter 3:5) was a local flood on our Earth. It's a dead giveaway that the writers of this foolishness do NOT understand Scripture. God Bless you.

In Love,
Aman

Actually, most of what I know about the Bible comes from my own reading, and consultation with Christian and Jewish scholars. Very little comes from anti-Christian sites.

So, please stop making this assumption. I guarantee you I am not alone in this.

If one is infinite, it contains the finite in it.
An infinite number of finites makes infinity.
It is reasonable that the infinite would be able to taste what a limited life is.

I am aware of what infinite is, and no it is not reasonable. It would be an infinitely fleeting moment of his existence.

But it goes deeper than that. What was he really sacrificing? He continued life as he has always, infinitely, known it.

People who say that he suffered on earth are only anthropomorphising his life, because that is all WE know. It seems horrible to us because we are not infinite. Most people fail to grasp the concept of infinity.

To an infinite God, a finite suffering is infinitely meaningless.

Because our existence in this world also affects others.
Salvation of each individual is preparation of one's heart, mind and soul to be willing to be drawn in a direction of Christ.
That preparation is being taught to us since birth by examples in life, encounters (good or bad) and other people.
Anyone is born to also influence someone else.
Even if God knows that in the end John would not receive him, John needs to be born, because his life needs to make an impact on someone else. Everyone has a chance to be saved.
Let's assume John is evil and enjoys torturing little animals.
This was a repulsive example in Mike's life and he decided to follow in another example.

What does this have to do with free will? Are you saying you don't agree with free will? Fine. That's all you had to say. I agree that an omnipotent creator does not grant free will.

Same principle as below.

Take a visible individual and take an invisible individual and put one into the other.

What does that even mean? That's like saying if you merge a person and his shadow, the person becomes both a person and a shadow. This makes no sense.

God cannot lie because his will not lie.
He is a good Being. And His will is so strong that lying is out of question.
He cannot lie.
Anyone certainly has a capacity to say something that is not true.
Just open your mouth and say it. Not much potency in doing that.

Will not lie, or does not lie, is not the same thing as CANNOT lie. A being who CANNOT lie, as the Bible states, is not omnipotent.

How many senses do we have? Very few. We can't even see the microwaves.
If someone created us and everything around us (including the invisible), He certainly is beyond our senses.
It is very reasonable to assume there is a Life Form who created all.
Unbelievable? Sure. But certainly not unreasonable, not illogical.
We all create and make things at our own level.

And until my senses are capable of rectifying the logical contradictions, I am INCAPABLE of believing in God

The more reasonable possibility is to believe there is a creator of the highest level who created all this.
It is not a reasonable possibility that all gradually came from nothing by itself.

Thanks,
Ed

Good thing I don't believe that all gradually came from nothing. I'm not even convinced that there has ever been a state of nothingness.

Coming from nothingness, or coming from God are EQUALLY unreasonable, as we have zero evidence for either.
