  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Another Noah's thread (no stoning please :))

It makes sense, but knowing what the results would be, isn't it possible that God would never give someone a test they wouldn't fail?
Yes, but again, these tests were more for their (and our) benefit, than God's.

A good race car is a tested race car.
Doesn't the Bible even say that somewhere?
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Argh... I am getting too theological and this is way offtopic, forget about it.
Troll.
Here is a question related to the topic for you: do you think Noah's Ark was found?
No.

I think Noah dismantled it to build his homestead.

You've clearly already made up your mind (confirmation bias will do that to you).

I mean, if the presence of alloys that hadn't been formed yet in the time of Noah doesn't cause skepticism for you, I doubt anything will.
But the point is the alloys were man-made and we do not know how they got there.
If this would have been an attempt to deceive he would have "planted" some other metals. He simply reported what was there.
Fraudsters do not do that.
We know that metal workers were there way before Noah.
Apparently they also had the ability to make such alloys.

Alloys prove the metal is man-made.

And my mind is NOT made up as you might think. :) Really.

And although I read the difference in opinions from other archaeologists, I do not see any disproof of the specific points that were presented in the video.

There is also no need for me to win the argument.
Some folks have the need for that. I do not.
I have no argument. :):swoon:

All I did was show this.
And I do realize that many groups would rather not have the ark found, Christian groups or otherwise.
I understand that.

I also understand that archaeology is a dirty business (attempt at a joke :liturgy:), same as the science is in a way.
I am not picking at you or your "side", I am not saying that churches are free of politics or are clean as a whistle either. :)

But that shape of the boat is huge and exactly the Biblical dimension of 515 feet. (Can't fake that. And what are the odds of that alone?).
And there are metal joints made of man-made metals that trace the outline of a boat.
It's like "what the ..." :)

Another point.
None of the critics say (from what I read) that they went to the Wyatt museum to actually examine the evidence. :)
(Maybe they did, but I did not find it).

Go and see and tell us you went to the Museum and it is nonsense and why. You see, their curiosity level is way too high to ignore the museum. But they did not go. Why not?
If you are embarrassed to go yourself, send your spies.
And I am certain they did, because they went to Turkey to do independent tests.
Why independent? Why not do the tests WITH Wyatt? You admitted you scanned the area at a much shallow level. :)
He invited everyone from what I understand.

Wyatt is dead now, I really do not know much about him, so I really do not know much about how this is run.

Thanks, :)

One thing we do know is that they are not from the past. Those are modern alloys. The man planted a flag stating "I am a fraud" when he tried to foist those off as artifacts. Aluminum does not break down rapidly. Neither do electric power generators. When you find some ancient electric power generators you might have a point.

Oh please. When someone gives hardcore evidence that he is a fraud and you keep supporting him your mind is definitely made up. You are going to believe what you want to believe regardless of evidence.

What do you mean "other archaeologists"? Ron Wyatt was not an archaeologist.

There is also no need for me to win the argument.

We know that. There is no argument. You have been following a hoaxster.

I understand that.

No, many groups would like to see the Ark being found. Even most atheist groups would welcome some sort of evidence of God. They are atheists because of a lack of evidence that supports the Bible, not because they are anti-god.

I also understand that archaeology is a dirty business (attempt at a joke :liturgy:), same as the science is in a way.

No, archaeology is a fairly clean business. Of course there are always frauds and cranks in any branch of the sciences that try to take advantage of the uneducated and those who are willingly deceived. Sadly it looks like you are in the latter class. The first group can be educated out of their foolishness, the latter not so much.

No, where they chose to measure the geological structure it matches the Ark. That is all. If I found a giant rock that looked like a bunny rabbit would that mean that rabbits use to be 150 feet tall?

Another point.

Why would you need to when Ron has shown himself to be a charlatan? That complaint does not fly. There is no need to go to his museum. Does he have a secret stash of stuff that he has not released to the public?

Go and see and tell us you went to the Museum and it is nonsense and why. You see, their curiosity level is way too high to ignore the museum. But they did not go. Why not?

I will gladly go. Please send me one first class airplane ticket, money for a stay of at least one night in a first class hotel, also some cab far money etc.

Or are you not willing to put your money where your mouth is?

Wyatt is dead now, I really do not know much about him, so I really do not know much about how this is run.

Yes, you brought up at least one good point. Ron will not be supplying us with anymore fake finds. I am sure that some other crook will be glad to step into his shoes.

It has been my posting experience that once there is a response to each sentence this usually means there is not much new to say and it is being taken personally.

Take care and thank you for your participation.

In a sense, yes.

At times, God would ask a person of faith to do something that would seem strange or out of character as a display of their faith.

Building an Ark, marching around Jericho; these things served a dual purpose: that of warning observers of impending doom, and that of establishing a person as a "man of faith."

Hebrews 11 is full of such examples.

In the story, Noah in contacted directly by God, is he not? Not a man of faith then.

Now, if Noah's neighbors had built their own arks, then they would have been men of faith.

The book of Hebrews says otherwise -- that settles it (at least for me).

And for the record, Cain was in direct contact with God as well, wasn't he?
