I'm asking since Russia was not in on the hoax, why didn't Russia expose the hoax? They had a lot to gain by exposing it as a hoax, so why didn't they? They were there closely watching and tracking everything as it happened with technology comparable to what the US was using. If any agency could have proven it was faked, it would have been the Russian equivalent of NASA.
A good detective reflects evidence, you, on the other hand, deny all the evidence that contradict your preconceived suspicions and you throw false accusations without any evidence. You are ignoring that it was not about just Russia, but the whole Soviet Union. Many countries of the Soviet Union underwent revolutions and wild regime changes - Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine etc.

No problemo. I'm undecided as to whether or not faking is going on. But if it is, what's the motivation? Even faked would still cost zillions of dollars and tons of manpower hours. So what's the motive and or goal?
