• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thank you, yes it does. I shall continue to serve in mercy ministries with out complaint, and I won't whine about it to you all - promise :) I am very grateful for all your prayers.

Offering up our suffering does not mean we can't, well, for lack of a better word, "whine" about it. :p Even Jesus lovingly complained to His Father as He suffered His agony in the garden. The Lord knows, when I have a stomach bug for a day—and I do understand your situation is much more than a 24 hour bug!—I make sure my fiancée and family never hear the end of it for a week. :)

We are human. Sometimes we just need to let it all out.

And congratulations on taking the first steps to enrolling in RCIA! I pray you have every success in embracing the Catholic religion!

Yours in Jesus and Mary,
SCIM.

Even if you need to get it off your chest sometimes, there's nothing wrong with that. I'm going through a couple of minor issues myself, and it's good to talk it over. No worries.

Just a thought. Why did you consider them, "scares?"

I had a couple of what I would call cancer 'scares'. I call them scares because they were frightening, but ultimately, I was cancer free. Thankfully this condition isn't life-limiting, but it is chronic and causes some considerable distress.

Thank you everyone - I may still have the odd complaint then :)

Joy, I am sorry to hear about your illness. That is hard. But I am so thrilled to hear about you becoming a participant in RCIA. I wish you well in your journey. Ours (meaning my hubby and me) was a wonderful and such joyful journey and we have never lost that sense of joy. I pray that you experience that too. God bless you Joy,

I can not help in the offering it up deal as I don't understand that myself. So this thread is a good one for me. I can and will put you in my prayers to God. And you can whine all you want. Sometimes that gets a big load off of shoulders. So does a big cry. As someone mentioned, Jesus prayed and asked if this cup can pass from me.
May God bless and help you in every way.
