Some people may be insecure about their intercessory abilities.

Or some may be going through a time of great confusion that they could hardily have the clarity of mind to pray.

If one is called to a prayer ministry, why not serve without expecting anything in return?

Could you quote where I even hinted about wanting anything in return?. What I constantly see on this string is that some people are directly, and or indirectly, making accusations which have no foundation in the OP or in reality. I do wish people would learn to stop and reflect and analyze what they read.

Why am I still bothering? Rhetorical Q. I guess a moderator can decide what, if anything, to do about some of these responses. If they want to close down the string, fine by me, as it is tiring to have my words be misrepresented so often, over and over.

Sometimes I see some people on the prayer forum who often ask for prayers, yet as far as I can tell they rarely, if ever, post prayers, or respond to requests for prayers, for anyone else.

Since I was the original poster, it is to be assumed that any advice being given was directed to me, and in fact that is how the rules generally are supposed to work. Honestly, I didn't ask for advice for "one" but for me. In fact, as I posted above, I feel that I got adequate advice pretty early on, and don't feel I need anymore.

No hard feelings from me either. We all may rush and not really analyze a post in depth, or consider what impact our responses to it may have-that are not necessarily relevant.

Once again, my words are being misrepresented. Did I say my concerns had zip to do with my own requests? No. I was talking about no responses to anyone's prayer requests. I am concerned for this culture about how often people do not seem to really analyze what they read. Also, I did say, above, that I already got the advice I really needed, early on.

Yes, others did mention that early on and I agreed that they were likely right, and that I probably should have thought of that myself.
