Does anyone here go to them? I do with my sister
In fact we are going to Otakon in August
I'm so excited for it!

I went to a smaller one around here once. It was kind of weird and boring for me. I guess it would be more fun if you were going with someone or had a part in an event. It sure was strange seeing "grown ups" in costumes everywhere though.
When my daughter was younger, we used to go to the Chicago Anime Central. It's better when you do go with someone.
My daughter and her friend are going to attend their first convention in June.
Not to anime events, because most around me are not really big. And I might feel a bit out of place because, though I like anime, I am not an otaku, I dont go in cosplay, use Japanese words to speak (like desu, etc.) and most people who attend are 10 or more years younger (at big cons I suspect that more adults are present). Running with the highschool crowd, not my thing![]()
I have gone to general nerdy events though. Like a con where everything is mixed together; medieval/history, fantasy, sci-fi, anime, steampunk, etc.
I would like to go to those big comic cons like in San Diego, New York or Angoulême. Or just any big con. I could easily spend hours and hours at a place where there is much to see.
I've never been to one before, might be fun or scary. Lol
I was at a convention this pass weekend, had an amazing time. So looking forward to the next one
One of my Cosplays for the weekend

I will be going to Otakon in about a week. I used to cosplay at every con, but these days I don't have enough time to make costumes (I'm not that good at sewing and the ones I've made so far aren't very good and I wouldn't want to wear them again). I go to three cons a year, Anime USA, Katsucon, and Otakon.
