I agree, most women are not into sexual abuse.

They're still allured by Christian Grey's dominate/sadistic qualities.

I'm not trying to argue that women want everything represented in that character.

We live in a culture where many people are damaged sexually and confuse pain and pleasure with love.

From a spiritual standpoint, I think pride is a big issue. Some men become offended if they are not acknowledged for their achievements or receive special treatments.
Good point, but I think society tends to acknowledge women more than men in some ways at least. I know some people here are going to give me crap about just questioning that stuff. Pardon my strong language, but a lot of men get that kind of thing for speaking out.

I mean I've heard some people claim they got that way because of that, although I don't think it represents the norm. Even then I'd wager the psychology of masochism from abuse is different than the one not from abuse.

Absolutely not. Our identity needs to be grounded and rooted in Christ, not the world, people are reacting to the world in a worldly manner.

Without Christ MGTOW...so do woman. Feminists seem angry all the time as well.

Yours in the Lord,

jm
I don't want this to sound rude but whenever I see a mention of "Christ, not this world" it comes off as black-and-white, and in a way it is dismissive to others.

Generalizing all of those who are upset with the "misogynist" brush for them speaking up about even the smallest argument is part of the problem here.

As for MGTOW, how Christian men can proclaim "self-ownership" while confessing Christ as Lord does baffle me a bit.

I think the idea is concerned with their relationship with women, not with God. You could call us "eunuchs", for our own sake.

Since femininity is a social construct, I'm not inclined to buy into this line of thinking much. I'd argue that each woman should seek to use her gifts and strengths, and ignore other peoples' ideas of "femininity."

Femininity is a biological fact, not a social construct.

I think that too many women abandon their true and much needed strengths for the siren song of their limited gifts.

White knights often operate under a hierarchy.

I never liked white knights. When I smell it in a man I’m turned off.

Yeah, and besides something like legalizing prostitution (and that will probably only help somewhat), I don't think the problem is ever going away.

Every since I saw the guy with a pimp cup my rational mind said get a cam and cut the idiot out. Not that I think that’s an ideal living but I wouldn’t give away one cent if it was my lot.

My friend was conversant in those subjects. I don’t think that knowledge is plentiful.

We also need much better communication between men and women. Not feminism where women get all the say and men have to work inside that framework. Everyone speak their mind. Be brutally honest, no matter how politically incorrect it is.

I’m a fan of truth. But I think that’s too risky for most given the desire for marriage many have. I think opting out would be better in the long run.

I think most people are more comfortable with kinky sex than gender benders.

If you believe He approves of your selfishness have at it.

My selfishness isn't the garden variety kind. I've given of the fat, the muscle is mine.

True story.
An older couple, longtime members of my church, stopped attending services. Asked if they were leaving the faith they said, "No, we're just tired."

I’m not aware there are differing varieties. Its the same spirit. To each his own.

To you, dear lady, I apologize, and I'll do my best to be more respectful to you, a Christian sister, going forward into the future.

I appreciate the sentiment. I don’t argue on forums. Watching someone lose control and permit a stranger to get under their skin is interesting. Few discussions are worth it.

God made the ox and he is rarely his own master. The whip and owner determine his output.

Anyway, be blessed and have a good evening!

Peace.

The subject is maintenance of the health and strength of the ox by a righteous owner, not it's production.

I rent out the upstairs apartment of my house but I don't allow my tenants to use my front porch (even though they must enter by it to get to their door). I explain that I "am selfish" about it, considering it personal space for my family and friends only. I am generous with some things, but not so much with other things, mainly my free time, which I treasure and spend mostly on my own pursuits and interests. I feed "freely" at the "time trough". I also tread out a helluva lot of "grain" during working hours.

Well, I don't view it all that moralistically (what people do in their bedroom, consensually, is their business), but a sadomasochistic relationship isn't exactly something I think people should go out of their way to emulate. If you can't get BDSM, that's perfectly fine, just as it's perfectly fine to not get into styles of relating to others through sarcasm, either. Healthy, balanced, mature people tend to gravitate towards sincerity and straightforwardness, and it's no flaw to be "vanilla" in this regard.

No, of course not. But that's not the only way people are sexually damaged.
