Can you at least try and respond with logical and fact-based arguments instead of ad hominem attacks?

Why would I bother? I know you don't care for any information shared with you- I've seen this for a while.

I know that such snide comments such as "you'd be hard pressed to beat Christianity when it comes to genocide" are nothing more than further proof that you only come here to attack Christianity- and I also know that such slanderous comments are neither falsifiable or provable. They're just your personal way of interpreting history and the world. The fact that I think they are essentially bogus and based on a false and dreadfully biased way of interpreting facts will mean nothing to you and we will just engage in the usual pathetic back and forth argumentation that you specialize in and that I don't care for at this age in life. What a waste of time. I'd rather have a cup of tea with my son and really encounter God in our lives.

Why do you bother coming to a Christian forum if you clearly only come here to snipe at Christians and the Church? Serious question.

Seriously? I came here initially because google alerted me that my own religion was being attacked here. I stayed to defend other religions that were being unfairly attacked.
My criticisms against Christianity have all been in response to Christian's attacks against other religions.
I have a real problem with people who can't see the logs in their own eyes.

Rocket and mortar attacks proved unsuccessful. That is why they turned to suicide bombings.

The last suicide bombing, by Hamas and in general, was in 2008 and that was on a military target. The last one by them that killed civilians was in 2005 and the last one where they definitely targeted civilians was in 2004. So it appears their methodology has changed and they avoid intentionally targeting non-combatants.

(It's terrible that they, or any other group, intentionally targeted buses when they know there will be mainly non-combatants on it. It's unIslaamic.)

I'm not going to watch American Sniper but from what I hear, it's something I can add to the media productions that have an anti-Muslim slant.

Threats reported to the civil rights group have tripled since the film’s wide opening over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, the committee told The Guardian. "The last time we saw such a sharp increase was in 2010, around the Ground Zero mosque," said the group’s national legal and policy director.

....."Savage, despicable evil. That's what we were fighting in Iraq," Kyle wrote. "I only wish I had killed more."

So are you saying Hamas was not responsible for the bombing of the 2011 Jerusalem bus station? Granted, it was not a suicide attack but it was an act of terrorism. Did the four Hamas members tried for this attack have nothing to do with it? Can you show me where Hamas disavows any involvement in it and condemns it?

They didn't claim responsibility and they don't need to condemn it in order to not be responsible for it.

A Hamas cell was arrested and is being tried in connection with the attack.
Condemning it sends a clear message that they believe terrorism is wrong. Otherwise, it looks like it is only a tactic.

That is the power of the American media, and it's a power that is increasingly directed toward prejudice, hate, and fear.[/COLOR]

Let's keep in mind that what has fueled the most recent wave are the beheadings and burnings by ISIS. The mainstream media did not show those atrocities. ISIS produced the videos which they released on the internet.
Now, I'm not saying these atrocities were any worse than those committed by (fill in the blank with bad non-Muslims) what I'm saying is that ISIS did not just commit them but they were the ones responsible for distributing news about them, not the media.

Of course that is very deliberate on ISIS' part. They want to turn this into an apocalyptic battle between Muslims and Christians/Jews. In fact what they are hoping to do is turn it into the Battle of Armageddon. So the more they can persuade people that the terrorists represent Islam, the closer they are to their goal.

Perhaps. ISIS made things that much more unbearable for Muslims worldwide. But at the same time, the media carries an enormous part of the blame for the rising trend of Islamophobia. What's more is that those obtuse people (i.e. the Muslim & Islam haters) do not realize ISIS is killing scores of Muslims, far more than anyone else. They do not realize it was Muslims who were campaigning for the release of various prisoners ISIS was holding, such as Alan Henning, more than the governments of those hostages. They do not realize Muslims were fighting against ISIS before anyone else while simultaneously fighting against Assad (and now some of those very same Muslims are being targeted by the US and the coalition, unfortunately, while Assad is ignored by them).

Here is a video that gives some saddening statistics:

I think that's too simplistic. It runs deeper than the mainline media. Here in America there is a sub-culture of hate. That sub-culture of hate gets a lot of it's miss-information from the internet and social media. And as part of that sub-culture, when they get together that hate bubbles up and spreads.

I agree about the subculture of hate...but mainstream media (and Hollywood) often either initiates or fuels it. The simplest way I can point that out is how Muslim suspects are treated vs. other suspects. If it's Muslims, terrorism is almost like a default suspicion of which they have to be cleared. For others, terrorism has to be proven and is much more cautiously applied.

I linked to this study a few times on this forum, but it follows the theme of this thread:

The study, recently published online by the Journal of Communication, sampled 146 episodes of prominent news programs focused on breaking news (rather than commentary) that aired on ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and Univision over the calendar years 2008-12.

Dixon found that among those described as domestic terrorists on those programs, 81 percent were identifiable as Muslims. Yet in FBI reports for the same period, only 6 percent of domestic terrorist suspects were Muslim, or about one in 17. (In fact, terrorism on American soil is far more likely to be committed by white supremacists, Dixon said.)

"A Muslim was jailed for six years in China for refusing to shave off his beard, while his wife was imprisoned for two years for wearing a burqa, as part of a severe crackdown on religious “extremism” in the far-western province of Xinjiang, local media reported."

"Dilxat Raxit, spokesman of the exiled World Uighur Congress, called the reported sentence unprecedented....The aim, he added, was to “use judicial and administrative means to force Uighurs to give up their own way of life and accept the Chinese tradition.” This, he warned, would only provoke people to fight back."

China jails a Muslim for six years — for refusing to shave his beard - The Washington Post

“The worldwide campaign against terrorism has given Beijing the perfect excuse to crack down harder than ever in Xinjiang,” said Brad Adams, Asia director for Human Rights Watch. “Other Chinese enjoy a growing freedom to worship, but the Uighurs, like the Tibetans, find that their religion is being used as a tool of control.”

This couple are Uighurs, a Turkish ethnic minority in China. Some of the people we were holding in Gitmo were Uighurs and we wanted to let them go, but if we returned them to China they would have been executed. We finally had to send them to places like Albania and Bermuda. Apparently these guys had been training in Afghan Taliban camps, but they hadn't been fighting against us.

On a good note, God will not forget those who did good and those who has faith in God.

See the link below, A young Christian refugee in Iraq has said she hopes God will forgive Islamic State.
Young Iraqi girl says she hopes God will forgive ISIS | Christian News on Christian Today

Matt 6:9-13 "
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.Your kingdom come, your will be done,on earth, as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts,as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."

Somali Muslim Militants kill 147 at Kenya University. They let Muslim students go and killed Christians and people of other religion:

And yet, overall radical Islamists kill more Muslims than anyone else.

The fact they're killing women and children shows they are not true to their faith. It doesn't take a theology degree to read the Qu'ran and see that is not an ok thing to do.

Yep. Here is an interview of Rebiya Kedeer (by Duke University's Human Rights Center) where she gives a brief historical background of the Uyghur situation and further talks about her own ordeal. Interestingly, it was the Bush administration that had pressured China into releasing her to the US (she currently resides in DC).The administration did something right, at least.
