Well--why not? It's not like we have a photo. I think he was. Makes sense. If not black, then definitely Arab. There's no way in hell that he was this blonde-haired, blue-eyed caucasian that most picture books point him out to be. The man was a Middle-Easterner. But hey--if you can prove me wrong without ranting and giving me pages of the Bible, then I'll listen. Note: His race matters naught to me--I just want to hear what your answers to this proposition are. :)

Makes no difference whatsoever.

Based on what we know about the Hebrew people at that time it is most likely he was medium-brown skinned.

Artists may depict Him in different ways (I don't think I've seen the blond hair version...) but these are just representations. No artist that I know of would definately say that their depiction is 100% accurate.

Indeed, He was not Norwegian, for certain. Not that there is anything wrong with being Norwegian, He just simply wasn't. On that we certainly do all agree? Yes? History tells us He was Jewish and therefore we are fairly certain that He "looked" Jewish, whatever that might have meant, at that time.

Also true that we don't have Polaroids, however, we do have icons, painted by very early Christians, who were directed by those who had seen Him while living. I will come back and post one of those for you.

This icon of Christ is one of the oldest in existence, and is at St. Catherine's Monastery in the Sinai. It dates to about the sixth century. However, iconography was a Holy Tradition dating to the earliest Christians and we do know that all icons were patterned in a very strict manner, passing on of detail and so forth so that they would not be lost. St Luke was an iconographer and Holy Tradition says that he painted/wrote the first icon of the Theotokos and Christ child.

It is also interesting to note that this icons facial features match perfectly to those on the Shroud of Turin. This icon is called Christ the Pantocreator
