Far better, to accept the facts
and take the path that you need to take
ie:
# that route 'that does no harm' -
# 'is kindest for both parties' -
# ensures that BOTH can move-on, in their own 'directions'

Life-changing consequences, NEED
that 'quiet aforethought'
especially when,
sufferance, is great
and the
ongoing prospect, is ~yet-more... of the same!
and,
with hindsight,
the knowledge re: resolution being unreachable ~to a mutual satisfaction
endorses, the course of action that resolves all-difficulties
and also provides
the space and freedom to step-up and move-on

Recourse, then becomes, a definitive action [planned, if you will]

It is of-course upsetting, to the COMMITTED party
to have-to [finally] acknowledge their own inefficacy
~to resolve matters
that affect both parties, in entirely opposite ways

Calling, an end / "STOP" to, a relationship [for example]
will happen
when the expectations of the one [however few and, innocuous]
are, inconsiderately confounded/impeded, in the heart and mind, of the other
