A part of the standard oath taken at trial.
Today's believer has it bad enough with all the usual things that weigh us down to include distractions and silly doctrines, yet this is different.

Now a believer has to wonder if what his preacher or denomination head is telling him the whole truth.
There are things that are the whole truth where the scripture can be very specific.
There are also things that are straight-out lies.
There are then those few things that get said that are not totally true.

These would be those things that are reflective of the prejudices from another time.
The things that are useful for little more than to maintain the unity of a group of people with agendas.
The things that do little for the common good, but much for ambitious individuals in every denomination.

So, not to be overly critical or obnoxious, questioning the entirety of what you hear is not a bad thing, just ask the Bereans.

Dear rdclmn7. Jesus is the Truth, always true and reliable. Jesus tells us in:
Matthew 22: 35-40: "The first and great Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it:
Love thy neighbour as thyself." Jesus points out, " On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." Nothing but the truth.
How can we best follow Jesus, and make sure that we live in truth. Let us treat all we know and all we meet, friends and not friends, treat them as we would love to be treated, always kindly and with friendly words. God will see our loving efforts, and God will Bless us, God will also know that we love God,
because we are following God`s Commandments. That is truth and we prove to the world that we belong to God, our Heavenly Father.
The Bible tells us to " Repent," and to " Be Born Again," Matthew 7: 7-10:
tells us: " Ask and ye shall receive." We keep asking God for Love and Joy,
then we thank God, and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour.
We might stumble and forget at times, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on loving and caring. Love is very catching, and we will find that the people around us, will treat us as we treat people, and we are living the truth
which Jesus represents.
It might not be easy to start with, but we are made in God`s image, and
GOD IS LOVE, and love will lead us on: Nothing but the truth, and Jesus is
the Truth. I say this with love, rdclmn. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.
