?? I don't remember ever seeing that! I'm certainly not saying it didn't happen, but do you remember which episode?

Third, fourth or fifth. I haven't been keeping track of the content of each episode, so I can't recall exactly, but I distinctly remember an Asian looking brunette at the model in a black bikini, and Mose - as always - hilariously trying something new and turning his nose up at it.

And though I'm a straight man, I concur with you ladies on Randy's physique. When he first took his shirt off, I couldn't help but think -- Amish reject dishwashers, but accept Bowflex???

What a nice epside tonight. The Amish got to check out people who were cultural and/or religious minorities like themselves and everyone came out looking good.

Well, except for Kevan, but his duplicitiousness was caused by the prejudices of others so... hmmm. I dunno, it was a good episode despite the manufactured drama and a beautiful portrayal of how diverse our country is.

E pluribus unum baby!

oh no...I dont like Kevan...it was HIS CHOICE to be duplicit or whatever its called. this show is ok, though Im surprised there hasn't been any romance yet. But then again, I missed the last 2 episodes...

I'm happy to hear none of the Amish girls are pregnant or anything.

From what I've read, there appears to be two extreme views of rumspringer. One is the kids head to a big city and go crazy with sex, drugs and rock and roll, and the other is that they head to a small town check out cars and cell phones. Neither is 100% accurate, and Amish in the City appears to more closely approximate what rumspringer is supposed to be than either of these misconceptions.

The Amish young adults - I refuse to call 20somethings "kids" are clearly and tenaciously holding on to their Amish roots while experiencing a world utterly foreign to them. Myself, I think they'll all go back to the Amish way, and be able to live on the memories of their experiences, but knowing how these shows are, I expect that 2 or 3 of the 5 will turn their backs on the Amish lifestyle.

I can't wait for the finale.

Wow, I can't believe I have missed this thread for so long! :) I am so caught up in this show, and I really didn't want to be in the beginning. But it's been better than I expected.

I think Ruth will be the one to remain Amish, because I didn't realize until last night she had a boyfriend at home. And did I hear correctly-did Miriam say that she had dated Randy for a year????? I think Miriam will leave and probably Jonas. I think Randy will go back. And I think in the end, Mose will too, but I am not quite sure yet. I think he has enjoyed all of the different experiences he has had and learning about the other cultures. And I thought last night, boy are the going to be disappointed if they leave the Amish and find out real life isn't quite like what they have been living the last little bit!

I thought it was funny last night when Randy, Mose, and Jonas were walking down Rodeo drive and Mose was whistling at the "chicks". That sorta cracked me up. And they had a conversation on how to pronounce "Rodeo". :D

I don't recall Meagan mentioning a boyfriend until last night. Then all of a sudden, they were quite an item. Interesting..... I had hoped Ruth and Jonas might pair up, until I realized Ruth already had a fellow. I think that is who shows up next week when they go to Amish country. Should be interesting.

I agree...Ruth is just about the only one who has someone special that hasn't gotten a visit yet. Did you see the looks on the city kids' faces when they found out they'd be "going Amish" for awhile? :D I would have been excited, not horrified.

Something glitched in my VCR and I missed the show. Thanks for the brief recap. I'm going to have to try and catch the replay this weekend.

I think next week will be very interesting, but I can already see, despite several weeks of learning to live together some of the city folks (I'm looking at you Reese) creating drama of some sort.

This show is still on? :D I guess I've been too busy to watch it. Could someone remind me what chanel it's on? I know it aired on Wednesdays. Thanks.

I would like to see the last episode, to see whether or not they go back to being Amish or not. I think Moses will. But I don't know about the others. They seem to be enjoying being worldly way too much.

I still think Mose doesn't go back. I mean, I've seen him doing tons of tv interviews, which he wouldn't be able to do if he went back to the Amish....unless he hasn't made up his mind yet. Apparently, they can take as long as they want to do that. I think the show was taped a couple of months ago.
