LLOJ, I just re-read a thread I started in 2013 about Full Preterism. What a trip.

You were in it too. Obviously my views on eschatology have changed.

I think eschatology is the ONLY area of doctrine where I have changed.

This was posted on another thread.
One problem with the 1000 years following the end of the world is the bible mentions only 2 worlds. This present evil world, and the world to come. Jesus' kingdom is not of this present evil world and the world to come is perfect and eternal, not 1000 years of sin, death and war.

The kingdom is here spiritually but only the born again can see it.

“Jesus replied, “I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born from above, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”” (John 3:3)

That's pretty severe on people who are not born again ! They cannot see the kingdom of God, nor even understand it or grasp it .....

That being the case, how can they escape the kingdom of this world/ the flesh, when it holds to various deceptions ?

I know Jesus' words make quite an impact. The Pharisees looked for a physical kingdom, a kingdom of sight and not of faith. And this is one of the reasons they rejected Jesus. He didn't match their "Millennial theory". But consider:

“Now at one point the Pharisees asked Jesus when the kingdom of God was coming, so he answered, “The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed, nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is in your midst.”” (Luke 17:20–21)

“But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has already overtaken you.” (Luke 11:20)

Correct, we know this,
but those who might be tricked still, what will bring light to the subject for understanding ?

Correct, we know this,
but those who are tricked still, how can they begin to see? Or can they ?
The problem is those who cannot see would hate God if they could, unless God first changes their heart through the new birth. So it isn't like they are good and God rejects them. They are bad and worship idols that bad people like to worship, even calling their idols by YHWH's name. This is what the Pharisees did and continue doing today.

Delightful, simple, wonderful reminder - over ten years ago, a grey haired wise woman sitting at the pay table at a garage sale said almost the same thing and I remembered it just now reading your post .

"All the talk in the world, talk till your blue in the face, won't change their minds ...... they need a new heart" ... immediate peace when that was spoken, and likewise again such good peace now.... everyone needs a new heart before they can see .... (not limited to Pharisees, but all people everywhere) .... (all people , as Jesus says, need a new heart, circumcised not by human hands, but by Yahweh Elohim Creator Sovereign King )

That's in line with all Scripture also. Perfectly.

This excerpt seems somewhat closely related also (or am I just tired? :) )
- a page I had open on another tab on the computer, yesterday, still open just now .....
http://www3.telus.net/trbrooks/fleshsalvation.htm

" The flesh demands full sovereignty; so does the spiritual life. The flesh desires to have man forever attached to itself; while the spiritual life wants to have man completely subject to the Holy Spirit. At all points the flesh and spiritual life differ. The nature of the former is that of the first Adam, the nature of the latter belongs to the last Adam. The motive of the first is earthly; that of the second, heavenly. The flesh focuses all things upon self; spiritual life centers all upon Christ. The flesh wishes to lead man to sin, but spiritual life longs to lead him to righteousness. Since these two are so essentially contrary, how can a person avoid clashing continually with the flesh? Not realizing the full salvation of Christ, a believer constantly experiences such a struggle.

When young believers fall into such conflict they are dumbfounded. Some despair of spiritual growth thinking they are just too bad. Others begin to doubt they are genuinely regenerated, not aware that regeneration itself brings in this contention. Formerly, when the flesh was in authority without interference (for the spirit was dead), they could sin terribly without feeling any sense of sinfulness. Now new life has sprung up, and with it heavenly nature, desire, light and thought. As this new light penetrates the man it immediately exposes the defilement and corruption within. The new desire is naturally dissatisfied to remain in such a state and longs to follow the will of God. The flesh begins to contend with the spiritual life. Such battle gives the believer an impression that housed within him are two persons. Each has its own idea and strength. Each seeks victory. When the spiritual life is in ascendancy the believer is most glad; when the flesh gains the upper hand he cannot but grieve. Experience of this kind confirms that such ones have been regenerated.

The purpose of God is never to reform the flesh but to destroy it. It is by God’s life given the believer at regeneration that the self in the flesh is to be destroyed. The life God imparts to man is indeed most powerful, but the regenerated person is still a babe—newly born and very weak. "

I think eschatology is the ONLY area of doctrine where I have changed.
People and the world can change but Yahweh remains the same and does the changing:
As Hebrews says:

Hebrews 1:12
and as a clothing Thou shall be rolling-up/elixeiV <1667> (5692) them as a cloak,
and they shall be being changed/allaghsontai <236> (5691).
Thou yet the same are and the years of Thee not shall be lacking/failing".
[Psalm 102:25-27/1 Corin 15:51,52/Reve 6:14]

The last 7th and last trumpet:

1 Corinthians 15:51
Behold! A mystery to ye I am telling. All not we shall be being reposed, all yet we shall be being changed/allaghsomeqa <236> (5691) 52 in instant, in twinkle of eye, in the last trump.
For He shall be trumpeting/salpisei <4537> (5692)
and the dead-ones shall be being roused uncorruptible
and we shall be being changed/allaghsomeqa <236> (5691)

Revelation 10

6 and did swear in Him Who doth live to the ages of the ages,
Who did create the heaven and the things in it,
and the land and the things in it,
and the sea and the things in it — that time shall not be yet,
7 but in the days of the voice of the seventh Messenger, when he may being about to be trumpeting, and is finished the mystery of God
as He did declare to His own servants, to the prophets.

Revelation 11

15 And the seventh Messenger did trumpet and there came great voices in the heaven, saying,
"The kingdoms of the world did become [those] of our Lord and of His Christ,
and he shall reign to the ages of the ages!’

Yahweh can save people from any and all deception POTENTIALLY, right,
IF He Wants To,
AND
IF they are willing (as Jesus said once over Jerusalem)....
He said He would have saved the people of Jerusalem, but they "would not" - they refused - they were not willing....
Then He warns, in Hebrews I think, not to be like the people in the wilderness were when they rebelled and perished for their rebellion ,
rather TODAY (apparently re-scheduling TODAY each and every DAY , TODAY, while there is still mercy available, and time too, to ) "harden not your heart as they did in the rebellion" and perished, but rather now, TODAY, LISTEN (if) you hear HIS VOICE (it obviously doesn't apply if someone does not hear His Voice, they remain where they are? ) ..... hear and do the will of the Father. Thus as Jesus repeats: such are My mother and My brothers and My sisters.

The following is one of the best things I have ever seen on the Amill doctrine.

Former Dispensationalist, Pastor Steve Greeg on Revelation 20

.
Interesting vid.
I like the way he starts off with Reve chapt 20
"which some scholars say is one of the most controversial chapters in the bible"

I actually stated that on a thread I started on Revelation chapt 20:1-3

https://www.christianforums.com/threads/what-about-reve-20-verses-1-thru-3.8071504/

This particular passage in Revelation appears to be the most controversial passage in all of Revelation.
This passage occurs after the war of Armegeddon is finished, and before the Gog-Magog war.

Any thoughts on this? Thanks

Revelation 20:
1 And I perceived a Messenger descending out of the heaven, having the key of the abyss
and having a great chain upon the hand of him.

2 And he seizes the Dragon, the Serpent, the Ancient-one, who is being a Devil and the Satan

And he binds him a thousand years.

3 And he casts him into the abyss, and he locks and he seals over of him,

that no he should still be deceiving the nations until should-be-being-finished/telesqh <5055> (5686) the thousand years.

After these, it is binding him to be loosed him a little time.

Pastor Sam Storms graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary and rejected modern Dispensational Theology before he graduated.

His book "Kingdom Come" is an excellent source on the Amill doctrine.
