  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I used to like to watch the auditions to see some of the outlandish things people did to audition, now they have so many backstories that we barely get to see any auditions. I don't like the new stuff they are doing. It's no different than watching the show proper. :(

Yeah, I'm watching for the talent, not the backstories. Do you notice that most of the crazy stuff you see is scenes from previous seasons? I like the talent, and I like the judging - I think these three judges are great. But I don't like the production of the show.

Good night of boys' performances - I would keep these:

Reed
Philip
Aaron
Jermain
Creighton
Joshua

but I'm like Jennifer - I'd keep most of them if I could - the only ones I thought were not ready were Evan and (sadly) HeeJune.

I liked Aaron, Jermain and Heejune. There were some others that were OK, but about half of them I thought were very weak.

The girls came out strong this year. One of the girls I liked the least, the judges all thought she did well. There were only 2 or 3 girls I didn't like.

This is different from past years where I liked the male competition much better than the female.

I thought that the guys were, as a group, stronger. That being said, of the girls that were good, they were very, very good and, I though, better than just about all the guys. I really liked both Hollie Cavanaugh and Hallie Day, but those are also the only names I actually remember right now.

Elise is my new favorite. WOW.

of the girls I would keep these:

Keeping these:
Elise
Jessica
Jen
Skylar
Erica
Halley

Overall I thought the boys were much better than the girls, but Elise is hitting it out of the park for me, and Jessica and Jen were much much better than I thought.

TOP three overall:

Elise, Philip, and Jessica.

Interesting top 13. I'm not a fan of Deandra(sp?), but maybe he will surprise me. I was hoping they would put Aaron back in, that is where I am disappointed.

So glad to find a thread here on American Idol! I've thought most of the girls had weak vocals, and I'm also surprised that they kept Deandre, because he overuses his falsetto, so it sounds out of place and off-key half the time. Phillip, Heejun, Erika, and Colton seem to have the most supporters overall (mainly on Twitter).

If you guys haven't nailed down who you want to vote for yet, I'd like to ask that you consider Jeremy. This performance is what did it for me:
American Idol - Jeremy Rosado -- I Know You Won't -- Wild Card - YouTube

Aside from his voice though, he's got such a kind heart, and I think we need more people like that in the spotlight to influence young people. It's so refreshing to see someone not ashamed to stand for what they believe in and visibly live out their faith in God. Anyways, that's why he's got my support (and as many votes as I can get in on Wednesday lol).
Who is everyone else voting for, and why?

Now that they are the final group, I am going to listen to all of them before making a decision. I liked some that were in the top 25, who didn't make it to the top 13, and wasn't paying a lot of attention to some of them, so I want to hear them all before saying who I like best.

Yeah, I watched all of the top 25 before making my decision final. I liked Jeremy from the beginning, but I also kinda liked Phillip in the beginning. After hearing both sing a few times (plus everyone else), I decided on Jeremy. Phillip is talented, but I don't like how he's being over-promoted over everyone else, and I think his Dave Matthews vibe will get old after awhile.
