Has anyone else realized the heavy christian influence in most of Amber Pacific;s lyrics? I first realized this a while ago when I first listened to a sample of a couple of their songs, but I finally got around to purchasing the cd and it's pretty prevalent that they have been influenced. I know that their drummer is a professed christian (check out his bio on their site: www.amberpacific.com and I can bet that the others atleast grew up in a youth group, if not are practicing christians currently. Does anyone else have more info on them?

Check out the song: Gone so Young, If I fall (very soft song), Poetically Pathetic, and Falling Away (among others)

I assume a good deal of you are familiar with them but they're a emo/pop punk sounding band.

Needless to say, the cd is entitled "The Possibility and the Promise."

My daughter just brought the "Promise" CD to me to ask if she could listen to it. I was surprised in the positive message in the lyrics so I did a Yahoo! search to see if they are Christian with a lighter message.

I haven't found that answer yet, but I did find this forum:clap:!

My review of this album is that the lyrics are positive, but confusing. Every generation of kids seems to develop its own language. When i say "Language" I mean an understanding of things that is different than a literal translation. This makes me believe that the lyrics may mean something that I don't quite understand because I don't speak the language of this generation of kids fluently.

That said, I believe the band members - at least the song writers - have strong Christian influence and exposure and, for whatever reason, have chosen not to make mention to more explicit Christian or Biblical things. Besides the "almost reference" to hickies in "You're Only Young Once", Truth In Sincerity is fairly clean and rates "above average" on the 'positive' scale.

Their lyrics seem pretty harmless to me, and some do seem to have Christian influence. I have two of their albums, but both wore out their welcome on my iPod pretty quickly as their songs tended to get stuck in my head and never leave, lol.

I think I'll allow this one on my daughters' iPods.
