Fun episode tonight. Dad and daughter team have issues though... well, at least dad.
You ain't kiddin'!!! That guy is a jerk...I wonder if we will get to see the daughter lose her cool with him. You know she has alot of respect for her father but he shouldn't threat her that way knowing she won't go off on him like some of the ppl I've seen whose parents have done less.

I think the guy talks to everyone like that. It's just a habit. He's unbelievably competitive and only sees the mistakes in other's, not himself. It's sad that he had the nerve to say that she disappointed him, when just last week he teared up saying that he feared he would disappoint her. She said that he could never disappoint her...she just wanted the chance to reconnect with him.

At this point I'm rooting for the brother/sister duo and the hippie couple. I just haven't gotten attached to anyone yet....

BTW, I laughed at how poorly the guys did at the manly job of tieing knots and hoisting heavy furniture. The chicks definitely ruled that task.

I though that was pretty cool too, but sometimes it works out that way in the Amazing Race. I love the nothing is quite as simple as it seems on tAR.

btw Did anybody else notice that the only married couple on this race is the lesbian couple? I thought that to be a little strange and plenty ironic. oh and no gay men this time either, just tons of dating couples.

As Snooch pointed out, Ari and his ***hag. I was glad to see them eliminated. I haven't liked the mincy queens, but Chip and Reichen and the gay O Brother were great.

It's not just that so much as that they consider themselves "married ministers". To a lot of Christians that is offensive. I'm just glad they're gone mainly because they were a distraction. It seems that they weren't really interested in winning as in making a point and CBS was happy to oblige in order to advance their agenda. They really stood no chance due to their physical condition and lack of competitiveness.

Oh please. Bertram van Muenster seems to cast for diversity and he got a twofer with them - lesbians and older couple plus the ministerial aspect. And when did you develop your psychic powers where you could read the minds of people who appear on your television or CBS executives.. oh, and how'd you get a copy of the Gay AgendaTM? Interesting that you don't feel the same way about Terry and Ian, the fat couple, the older moms, the family with the young children on Family edition, other older couples, etc.

Goths. The hippies were two seasons ago. And I agree completely. I LOVE when the women step up to the plate and have been rooting for all female teams since season 2.

You go girls!!!

Oh please, to you too. You don't think Hollywood has an agenda??? Where've you been? And excuse me, you're making all sorts of unfair comparisons. I make a simple statement and you blow it all out of proportion. No need for personal attacks here, ok?

Wrong. I know who the "goths" are. I am speaking of the the guy with dreadlocks and the dark-haired gf. Next thing I know, you'll be screaming at me for that. Don't.

Veritas is right when she said hippies. You're thinking about the two guy hippies from season 9 [right?], but this season TK & Rachel are considered the hippie team. I don't know if they really are or not, but that's the label they got.

they were the second team to be iliminated.I was kind of rooting for them in the first episode but then i really started rooting for the goths. One of the teams with the sisters said that one wrong move could cost you the whole race and she is right.I think thats what happend to the mairied minesters.I heard in one post that one team is now called the new official "hippies" I think that is a cool idea for them as they do sort of look like hippies

On Mars. So where can I get a copy of this supposed Hollywood agenda?

Oh stop with the martyrdom crap will you "truth". I was just observing you seemed to obsessively mypoic on them being married lesbians while ignoring that they were fellow Christians - and one of them was even ordained. Would hetrosexual married or unmarried atheist couples have even warrented the appelation "distraction"?

Lighten up with the persecution complex. I wasn't "screaming" by any stretch of the imagination. I hadn't seen dreads and dark referred to as "the hippies" so I mistakenly assumed you were talking about the goths (as swingnscream) pointed out.

Good race last night.

My wife had a bad asthma attack, but before we left for the ER she made sure I taped the show. :D (She's fine BTW)

I both glad to hear she has her priorities straight and that she's O.K. :)

Sincere question to all participants in this thread - I've known about the name of Burkina Fasso's capital for years so would have recognized it immediately. I even have a joke about it's pronounciation - Wangadandadoo. It appears that not of the Racers had any idea of how to pronounce it or where it was... not even the (and who knew, I presumed they were just black Americans) Ethiopian-American participants.

Any one else notice how they kept referring to the camels they were supposed to be milking as "he"?

A cultural note about the Taureg that TAR never mentioned, nor that Volkswagen appeared to consider when giving their SUV a name - they are terribly racist against other "black" ethnicities. From what I read in National Geographic a few years ago, they would see racial differences in other black people that your average European-American would be unable to discern and discriminate accordingly.

I neglected to take notes on about 20 things last night I wish I had, but the one comment I do remember is if some point it's not revealed the Vyxxen has a Johnson, I will only be slightly less surpriesed than I will be disappointed that I didn't meet her before she got all mascared and weird.

I was talking about this with another CFer earlier today. Just speculation, but I'm betting the lesbian Episcopal ministers are portrayed as warm, loving, open, non-judgmental examples of what everyone wants Christians to be. As opposed to all the conservative, traditional Christians they bring onto reality shows, who are *always* the worst possible examples out there.
Yes heaven forbid we have traditional real Christians on there that believe the Word of the Lord and obey it.

they were the third iliminated.I think they were just too slow on the last chalenge where they had to learn it.Either than that, they were a great team and i am sad to see them gone.

I'm actually glad it wasn't Jason & Lorena, it was a close call! I think they're starting to grow on me a bit, what a surprise! Although I still think some meds would do that chick a world of good.

I thought the sisters were vivacious and added a lot to the Race to I hated to see them go. It was cute when grandpa was appreciating their attractiveness and then got a chance to dance with one of them.

About Kan't. It is more shocking to learn that there is an extant Goth sub-culture in Kansas City than to see how Vyxen, and yeah - she has like 4 inches on him, I noticed - is really the man of the couple. "Dr. Relationshp" interpretation number two is that he needs a mommy figure and she can help him jump 3 feet off a train or fix his mascara when it runs.

I think there's about 3 teams that I really don't like. But I like have somebody to cheer for and someone else to cheer againist in tAR.

I have to agree, I think it would be excessivly stressful especially with weird sleeping hours and everything, but I also imagine it'd be worth it. When their first 2 stops were Ireland and Netherlands, I was so jealous!

As for Kent and Vyxen, I am amazed to learn/see how much of a prissy boy he really is, although maybe I shouldn't be so surprised, and it is really funny to see that Vyxen is more of a tough chick [certainly tougher than he is] ...but I guess that just goes to prove that opposites attract.

Me either! But I would hope I wouldn't act like that chick did this last week, just screaming away because she couldn't get any milk. The poor camel.

Yeah, I mean she gets the door for him? Not my kinda dude. I need to be treated like a queen!:pink: (But I give it all back in other ways!)
