How do I know what I am doing is in the will of God? It seams like I really don’t want to read my bible or pray. I am beginning to think that this is a time to for me to find if God is really the God He says He is in the Bible.

You could just read a little bit on Matthew 25:35-40 and get an idea of God's will. But generally it is love your neighbor and God.

It feels like I am in a spiritual desert.

How do you mean? If you want to feel the Holy Spirit all you have to do is serve God. Which is spelled out somewhat in Matthew 25:35-40

Many, if not all, Christians have "dry spells" or "desert experiences" in their life. The story of the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and subsequent 40 years spent in the desert is often used as an analogy of the Christian life. The apostle Paul uses that analogy in 1 Cor. 10:1-4. The dry experience is the opportunity God offers us to trust more in Christ and let our faith grow. It seems dry because as our spirit becomes stronger, and thus our commitment to obeying God, we start to become detached from our emotional addictions. It's a kind of withdrawal from the slavery of fleshly feelings.

God might also be calling you to deeper fellowship. One way to that is to memorize scripture consistently. When you have scripture memorized, it is readily available to you for using it in spiritual warfare. IMO we all need a long term vision for our spiritual maturity, and work some at it on a daily basis.

I usually don't give this type of response to these kind of threads, but you might want to check out a book called Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God by Henry Blackaby. I think it explores the topic of which you are asking and will be of a great benefit to you if you are serious. I hesitate to judge your remarks of not desiring to pray or read the Bible. God knows your heart. So I'm not going to come down on you and throw you under the bus for that. But the book that I recommended is a classic and has helped many people in the faith. Good luck!

When someone learns that all the world is doomed and in sin, including ones own self, what is the response they have ? Surprise? Fright? Sadness ? How about "I've got to find out the TRUTH about God - not what people have told me about Him" ? (God is True, Perfectly as Scripture Says, Yes)
