Am I having visions?

I was talking to a girl who is also a member here and we somehow got on the topic of the end times. What is weird is that as I was typing in something that had happened to me, like a dream, she was also typing the same thing. We both seem to have had the same vision/dream about a volcano in the ocean erupting. I know some people probably wont believe it but it happened. Later I read a part from the bible that said this:

17" 'In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
19I will show wonders in the heaven above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved."

I don't know if anyone can answer you! I think this has to come from your heart. Our pastor was talking about this just last Sunday. He said that if someone came into the office and wanted to speak with him and started off by saying "God told me..." He would be done with that person. How can you argue with God? I know he was teasing about this topic, because so many people will confuse the voices they hear (not being able to weed out the enemy's direction from the Holy Spirit).

The best way to know if something is of God is to see if it lines up with scripture. If it lines up with God's word, then it's likely it could be a vision. Now, the purpose of a vision is another story...
