I don't personally see how accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior is all that hard. 
God choose something very simple for us to do to avoid hell, and many people would rather argue against it than accept it. It is a gift. Who refuses a gift from God in good conscience? That seems rather scornful, in my view. What I'm saying is it doesn't cost you anything to accept Jesus as Savior, and yet wanting to know the reason why we have to accept him is stopping some people from salvation. It really doesn't make any sense to me. He is the way. The only way.
