No, the beginning is Genesis 1 where God created man (male & female) and told them to be fruitful and multiply and God saw that it was good, i.e. this is what happened. Adam & Eve are the first people God has direct dealings with in a protected area, Eden.

Jesus is the "second" and "last" Adam, he's not the 2nd or last man created but the second and last to represent man before God.
In Adam, the self-willed, disobedient man all die.
In Christ (by being born again) all are made alive.

I understand all that but that was not my question. My question was.....where did the people from Nod come from? Or do you assume that God allowed Cain to take one of his sisters as a wife. Which, in turn, would mean that at the time God approved of incest. Incest being sexual relations between any two people of the same bloodline. Which would mean God does change. My understanding is God doesn't change. He doesn't change. He is the same today as he was yesterday as he always has been. So how could disapprove of incest today but approve of it for Cain in the beginning??

I explained! anyone outside Eden was created in Genesis 1.

The situation was different at the time of Adam & Eve, there was not so much disease so incest need not be a problem, unless you think God made a mistake by waiting hundreds/thousands of years before bringing that law in?
The Mosaic laws were designed for a society at that time, God is now dealing with people of all different societies and laws and does not require hhis people to engage in revolution to keep the Mosaic laws .. remember if you break just one you are guilty, so this woul mean wearing garmenst of more than one fabric is wrong now.

I see. I can only see that you are trying to tell me that God once approved of incest because circumstances were different but now they are different again so he changed his mind about incest. Once again my understanding of God from the Bible is God doesn't change his mind on anything. How he felt about it yesterday is how he feels about it today.

I think this is one of those things in the Bible that we can't possibly know, and can't take literally. I don't think it's really black and white like that. It's sort of like the creation story. I don't believe it literally happened in 7 days like we know 7 days. And, that likely goes for a lot of stories in the Bible.

So, Cain went to where there was no one?

Cain was a first born wasn't he? therefore how long did he live considering the first born recorded in those days lived 7,8,9 hundred years or more. plus the interest in the documents, was towards Noah and the souls that lead to his coming into the world.

who is to say that after Cain went to what was to be known as Nod which seems not far from Eden that souls eventually came to where he was dwelling and he married and so on and so forth. it doesn't take long for man the populated the earth. the population in north America was probably sparse in 1600's compared to 2 or 3 hundred years later. Noah lived over there hundred years after the flood and was alive when Abraham 10 generations later was alive.

Then go to chapter two of Genesis and you will find where God FORMED Adam from the dust of the earth. And after a period of time, God MADE Eve from a rib of Adam. Adam nor Eve were created. One was formed and the other was made; from material that was available.
The people of chapter one is where Cain got his wife.
As you read this account you will see that Adam and Eve didn't have sons and daughters until after Cain was married with children of his own. Then Seth was born and then there were sons and daughters.
Your suspicions are well founded. As you read, pay close attention to each word. They say volumes.

Thanks. I only know that some of what was being told to me wasn't making sense. At least to me it wasn't. I'll go back re-read these passages again.
