  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey ladies,

I'm either suffernig from allergies or a really bad cold. Either way the bottom line is I'm miserable and I need some relief. I can't stop sneezing, my sinuses are all blocked, my throat is scratchy, I'm freezing and overall I feel like death.

Is there anything I can do? Sleeping is a nightmare, I can't get comfortable or breathe or anything else. I was going to call my OB but I feel like I call for every little thing. I don't want to get annoying. :sorry:

Annoy your OB! That's what you're paying them for!

The antihistamines chlorpheniramine, loratadine, doxylamine, brompheniramine, phenindamine, pheniramine, triprolidine, and diphenhydramine are considered low risk during pregnancy. It's best to avoid the decongestants pseudoephedrine and phenylephrine. But check with your doctor. There are also websites online that tell you what category a drug is in and what's considered safe in pregnancy.

What ^she said!

Also add to that list a saline nose spray. Just get the plain saline with no medication added. It's not as horrible as I remember it being, and it REALLY clears up your nose so you can breathe again! We preggos have stuffy noses even w/o the colds, so it's become my new, best friend. ;)

I called my OB and she said I could take Zyrtec or Claritin during the day and Benedryl at night to help me sleep. So I just followed the instructions on the package and took 2 Benedryl last night before bed. I woke up feeling even worse so I took 2 more this morning. I'm not going to work because I've nearly completely lost my voice and my ears are hurting ugh.
