Makes no sense whatsoever.
I don't understand why not. If I were to say, for example, "The person who posts at CF as SharonL is a 27-year-old man from Uzbekistan who is a Democrat and Bulgarian Orthodox by faith," I would be talking about you, not someone else, but they would be untrue statements about you. (And sorry for the falsehoods, which of course I do not mean a word of -- but it seemed the easiest and clearest way to distinguish between person and statements about person.)
If somebody named Mohammed said, "you all should stop worshipping idols and worship the God who revealed Himself to Abraham," he would be talking about the one true God, the one we know from the Bible. If he then went on to say false statements about that God, he would still be talking about the God of the Bible, but he'd be making untrue statements about Him.
That is what most of us are saying happened. Not that the God taught by Islam is a true conception of God, but that it is the same God as was taught by Moses, Isaiah, Jesus, Paul, Aquinas, and Luther whom Mohammed attempted to teach about -- but that his, and Islam's, conception of Him was vastly in error.
