  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I've read MANY threads on this forum where people refer to Allah as the God of the Muslim's as if this is a proper name of some "false god" and that is just not true, so I would really like to set the record straight and educate those who are unaware of the fact that "Allah" is the ARABIC WORD ~for~ GOD.

Just as "Dios" is the SPANISH word for GOD.

And "Dieu" is the FRENCH word for GOD.

"Allah" is the ARABIC word for GOD.

It is not the "proper name" of a particular Islamic God connected only to Muslims. Even Arabic CHRISTIANS use the word "Allah" to refer to GOD. The Aramaic BIBLE uses the word "Allah" for GOD, as it is the Arabic word ~for~ God.

I would just like to ask that we please keep that in mind when making statements about Muslims and "false gods" so that we don't insult our Arabic brothers and sisters in CHRIST because of our lack of knowledge on this subject.

Many thanks!!

They believe in the God of our Bible, the God of Abraham, Isaac/Ishmael, Jacob/Israel and even that Jesus was born of a virgin.
Unfortunately they do not believe He was crucified and ascended to the Right Hand of YHWH, but one day both them and the unbelieving "Jews" will have the "veil of Moses" lifted from their eyes, just as I did. :)

Revelation 1:1 [a/an] From/Un-Covering/Veiling[ apo-kaluyiV] Yeshuwa` Mashiyach, which gives to Him, the God/YHWH , to show to the bond-servants of Him, which is behooving to be becoming in Swiftness.

The god in which the Muslims call Allah, is not the true God..by this I mean the god they worship is not God..
Agreed.

Frankly, I've never seen any Christian call God Allah on this forum. But if some do because of their Aramaic roots, I personally have no issue with it, so long as they're not talking about some kind of universal god that both Muslims and Christians worship. In the Western world, the name Allah is usually associated with the false Islamic god. It's just a cultural thing. None the less, I will certainly be considerate that some use it to refer to the One true God. :)

Is Allah originally an Aramaic word? I thought it was just the Arabic word.

Anyways, when ever we do parts of the Liturgy in Arabic at my church, we say Allah.

Quddusun Allah. Quddusun al-qawi. Quddusun al-adhi, la yamut irhamna.
Holy God. Holy Mighty. Holy Immortal, have mercy on us.

The Muslims worship the one true God, their God is our God. However they have limited understanding of our God.

Muslims have a limited understanding
Jews have more
Protestants more than them
Catholics even more
Orthodox have the fullness of revelation.

Sorry the God of the Jews, Protestants, Catholics and Orthodox did not promote us to kill other's who did not believe in what we believe..My True God is Jesus Christ, they deny He is God.

Actually your right.

Aramaic Christians who believe in Jesus Christ would Praise Allah (Aramaic for God) and praise Allah for salvation "in Christ" in accordance with the truth.

So when one calls Allah "evil" they are just using the aramaic langauge for the word God and calling God evil being ignorant of it.

The number ONE might be spoken differently in many langauges because of dialec. Yet within each language (when translated) and understood ONE is STILL ONE. Just as ALLAH is simply the aramaic WORD for GOD.

I agree, if we heard (in our own language) another call God evil and all sorts of terrible things we would WINCE at that. Yet thats exactly what others do in ignorance of the aramaic language and call ALLAH names, because they know not its a word for GOD.

I agree there are our Aramaic brothers and sisters in Christ who (in their native tongue) praise Allah (God) for Christ our Lord.

Peace

Only over a WORD

Proverbs 12:6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood

Hate =murderer Our Lord and John shows that.

Look at what the Koran, Muhammad and their Allah say and compare it to what Christ, God and the saints have done and said and then tell me that their "god" is the same as our God.

I highly doubt the fullness of revelation comment.
