I went back a few pages and didn't see a thread pertaining to this, so.....

So, what's your favorite FF game (Using Japanese Numbers)? Which was your first? The Hardest? Favorite Character? I've played I, IV,and VII, and like VII the best, IV's the hardest, and Aeris is my favorite character because of her limit breaks.

I picked Final Fantasy IV I remember playing this on the SNES and the game would never end. I think I had over 80+ hours of gameplay and now you are lucky to get 35-40 hours. The game was just plain awesome throughout the game it always had twisted plots that would keep changing.

1 FF IV
2 FF VII
3 FF
4 FF IX
5 FF X
6 FF XI
7 FF VI
8 FF Tactics
9 FF VIII

Yeah, I'm in IV right now, probably near the end (just got beat up by the elements), and 6 characters have left the party, most by apparent suicide. I love the Fat Chocobo, though. I've never played the original FF, only the Anthology version, though I did do it on original difficulty.

Fave: FF6 (FFT is a close 2nd)
First: FF7
Hardest: FF5? Dunno.

Fave character... tough one. Locke and Relm (FF6) I suppose.

Played 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Tactics.

...And Mystic Quest, if you wanna count that wannabe beginner RPG as a FF... final boss dies in like one healing item? Boring. ^_^

FF IV was to the SNES as FF VII was to the playstation at the time. It is a great game I wish i still had my SNES. Have you made it to the planet in your spaceship? I remember those Behemoths used to always kick my butt.

I'm surprised you gave Mystic Quest that much time :) I played about 5 minutes of it and decided that spending my time on IV was much more gratifying.
well IV and MQ came out at different times.
not only that, after playing IV, the expectations for MQ were high. and even though it sucked, we had to play it since we bought it.

anyways, it wasn't that bad.

Favorite: ff6
First: ff1
hardest: They're all easy! They seem to generally get easier as they come out.
characeter: Kefka

They only ones I haven't played are FF9, X-2 and the GBA one. Yes, I've played ALL the GB games. The Famicom FF2 and 3 have been translated on emulators.

Phantasy Star IV was better then every FF game IMO. FF6 was very close, maybe tied.

Yeah, I got to the moon, and the behemoths are really tough, but I got through those. I wasn't feeling brave enough to deal with Bahamut at the moment. I'll go back to that soon.

I saw someone listed VIII as their favorite; was this because of the junction system? That's about the only good thing I've ever heard someone say about the game.

What's your favorite leveling/class system? That's where I thought 7 failed; the characters were completely the same except for limit breaks, because after a certain level and with their ultimate weapon, they'd all do really high damage physically, and do a fair amount of magical damage. I liked finding and leveling materia, but would've preferred if it was character specific or something.

Haven't played a game where you can change classes yet. My favorite class, when you've got a good party, is the white mage, because they're just such awesome magic users, and you don't have to worry about doing elemental damage/healing.

Thats right its been a long time since I played it but it was the greatest game of the series for me. Good luck on beating Bahamut. I just could not get into FF VIII the Graphics and sound where awesome but the story just flat out stunk. I think they rushed it because 1 year later FF IX came out and that game was awesome they took the story back to the old time feel without all the futuristic garbage.

The games today are a mixture of the old and sci fi so it does kind of blend together.

I never really got into the FF series, however I was looking into FF Online. Is anyone playing that? Is it any good?

Moogirl it comes out March 23rd to the public, but from what beta testers are saying it is the best online rpg game ever.

I will have to wait awhile because it is $99 and a subscription fee, but you get a 40gb hard drive to store your game.

I know FFVIII catches a lot of flack, but I really think it has the best leveling and class system. The junction system just owns. There were times where there was so much strategy involved that I would take 25-30 mins just preparing for a major battle. The depth involved with the whole process was amazing. Tactics is a close second-- the job class system works wonderfully.

I voted for FFVII as my favorite overall. I love the story (although it gets too weird for its own good at the end) and the materia system is a lot of fun. Not to mention that Aeris' death is one of the most genuinely shocking scenes in a video game I've ever experienced.

I've only played part of 6, and all of 7, 8, 9, 10, and Tactics.

How 'bout a few more categories?

Toughest Battle: Emerald Weapon--FFVII

Best Side Quest: Triple Triad card game in FFVIII; I spent almost as much time playing cards as playing the actual game. The card game is also much, much better than the one in FFIX.
