Is anyone else excited about this? I for one have been waiting 15 years for this movie. I think it has to potential to be an incredible edition to both series. Lets hope they don't turn it into a summer money blow out.

In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't know how good this movie will be considering that it's PG-13. Remember RoboCop 3? RoboCop 3's PG-13 rating is what ruined it. Alien vs. Predator was meant to have an R rating; I will still give it a chance though.

Okay nevermind i saw another new pre-view and the pg-13 is in fact real, you're right. I am not worried, as long as the violence is kept i don't care if they leave out the cursing and sex, because violence seems to be much more acceptable in movies then sex.tqpix said:

Honestly i think the only thing an R rated would add is the f bomb or sexual scenes. I think the violence will be up to par with the other movies, at lest i hope.

There should still be plenty of room for violence, even with a PG-13. I mean it's not like splattering acid and chem-light filler all over the set is the same as splattering red syrup.

Having read the book, I'm sure there will be plenty of red syrup, not as much as Kill Bill. The story is good and believeable, meaning in line with the Alien and Predator movies. I will definitely be watching this movie, and I'm glad it's PG-13. There is no sex in the book, so I doubt there will be in the movie. We shall see if it is up to par with the AVP comics from Dark Horse...

Actualy they a PG-13 rating doesn't mean no gore, the rating boards have strange ways of doing things. Since the Predator bleeds green blood that gives it some leverage. The ratings board will let you get away with anything, if done correctly. You can show violence towards certain things and get away with more, like Zombies and other assorted "monsters". Attack of the Clones got away with a PG rating and in that there were 2 beheadings and one severed limb. It's give and take with them.

Have been waiting for this movie for a long time. What actually made me a fan of Aliens and Predator were the great stories Dark Horse wrote for them back when they started. Hope it was worth the wait.

ugh, that footage was horrible. the movie's going to be horrible. i had hopes but then the trailers came out ...
so they discover a tomb in antarctica. why are they sending a team of researchers and a contingent of heavily armed guards? why?
why couldn't they just bring back the space marines?
why is it pg-13? give me r rated goodness just like the other movies? two hard r-rated franchises doesn't yield sissy pg-13 wholesome fun! i hate it that they've destroyed a potential franchise. maybe idiots will come out in droves to justify a 2nd movie but then that would mean paul anderson would be able to make more movies. i hope this movie bombs because the director is a hack and he's ruined some very promising films with the exception of one film - Event Horizon.

I'm not optimistic, but I am hopeful. I do not sense a plot, that's gonna be it's Achilles heel if true, more than it's ratings or most anything else. Hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised though.
