Alien vs Predator

I don't see wants so big about the match up I mean come on alien has teeth and is slimey, he also looks like nothing but skin and bones he can take out humans but predator come on. predator huge, strong, and has weapons. in one of the previews you can for a split second see predator fling alien across the room their in. it's should be predator all the way.

besides I ama lready disapointed because they rated it pg-13 instead of R and so it is going to be so much more lame than it could have been!

oh well. I think ill still see it.

Well, since one of my favorite games of all time is Aliens vs. Predator when I first saw the previews for this movie my reaction was along the lines of: "that's going to be so horrible... when does it come out again?"

Shoulda been a R movie. The PG-13 alone lets us know it's not going to be great, which is too bad, I always liked the comicbooks.

I think there's waaaaaaaaay too much complaining over the PG-13 rating. The ratings system is so messed up and lax, I think the only thing that could have made this an R-rated movie is a sex scene, and I think we all agree that a sex scene is unnecessary.

This isn't going to be a great movie. This isn't even going to be a good movie. It's gonna be a fun movie, just like Terminator 3. T3 was a horrible movie, but one of the most entertaining I've seen in a long time. AVP is gonna be a huge battle between the aliens and the predators with humans stuck in the middle. It'll have awesome effects and fight scenes... it'll be very enjoyable.

PG-13 means no gore. There might be a lot of green gore, but definately not red w/ meaty chunks.

Plus, PG-13 signifies that they are targeting a younger crowd and that it is more action, less horror.

Just like the Chronicles of Riddick, I called the movie as carp the minute I saw the rating, and I was right.

I'm cheering for Predator!

I like the Alien movies but Predator is like the ultimate hunter. Duh! Hope he wins!

See, I can understand why there's a lot of disappointment in the whole PG-13 rating. I'm a little miffed about it as well. BUT if you think about how culture has allowed things slide a little easier into the entertainment market, I could see this movie possibly beating our expectations of a PG-13 rating. After all, the content of many 1980's and early 90's R rated movies are about the equivilant of what some PG-13's are these days.

When I saw Predator 2 some years ago, and witnessed the scene where Danny Glover is in the Predators ship... I knew (when I saw the Alien skull mounted on it's wall) that there was going to be some sort of Alien/Predator epic in the future. I just didn't think it would take that long. I'm looking forward to the movie. If its weak, and I wind up disappointed, then that's fine, at least someone gave it a shot. You can't always expect that remakes, and later franchises will be as good as the original series anyway.

Words cannot describe how utterly awful this movie is. I have been waiting for AvP for YEARS! I love all the movies in both series (except Alien: Resurrection) and this was a mockery of both. Just awful. I can't even describe my disappointment. There is not a SINGLE redeeming thing in the whole flick. The characters are bad. The action is bad. The story is bad. The predators are made into total wimps. The way the aliens move is nothing like they moved in any of the other movies.....:: Whoever directed this train wreck should be banished from filmmaking forever. He completely destroyed the legacies of 2 great film series. God have mercy on his soul.

Are you guys joking? You sound like you're disappointed! Did you actually go into the movie with hopes of anything remotely good other than special effects and fight scenes? My expectations were so low that I came out of it VERY pleasantly surprised! Of course it was a horrible movie. Of course the plot, acting, and storyline were going to be ridiculous.

However, the one thing that dashed all my joy in the movie not being as bad as I thought it would be were dashed by the last 2 seconds. *sigh*

Edit: Hold on... I just read a post more closely. One guy said that this director wrecked two great series of movies. The Alien series was wrecked by Aliens and Alien: Resurrection. The Predator "series" (consisting of two movies) was wrecked by Predator 2. Seriously... Danny Glover?

Just got back from watching this movie. Personally I think it's an OK movie, didn't impress me much when I walked out from the theatre. I won't say it's an awful movie, though.. it was just that I expect more out of it.

I had previously only seen the first Predator movie so I am not familiar with the second Predator movie or any of the Alien movies.

But I enjoyed the movie on Saturday night and there was a large crowd at the 9:10 p.m. showing. My wife has seen the Alien movies but not the Predator movies and she really enjoyed the movie tonight.

It is not a thinking person's movie - it would have needed to be 30-45 minutes longer to fill in all the gaps. But I don't think that is what people basically would go to this movie for. This movie is for action and some mildly scary entertainment.

And it does deliver on those.

The human & Predator team up to fight their common enemy--the alien. STUPID!! The very end just clenched it when the alien popped out of the Predator's chest. But this alien had a mouth like the Predator. Dumb
