Just a thought, and it just came to me while I was answering, the first two are undeniably true. After death (unless cremated of course) the human body decomposed and yes, mixes with the earth. From our remains, new life is grown, ie, plants, bugs, worms, etc. The body is just a shell that we are gifted with. The shell isn't important, the soul is.

Personally, I believe in reincarnation, but I also believe that before going on to the next lift, there is a waiting place called the summer land.

Well, I think we can agree there's no absolute certain on this subject; no matter what you believe, you can show evidences, and no matter what those evidences are, they can be always refuted.
So I guess we choose the idea that makes more sense for us in a theological point of view. The concept that help us to keep on the patch of God, whatever idea we make of Him. Or in the patch of being in peace with our conscience, for the agnostics and atheists.

For me, that's reincarnation. But I have no right to say that's what happen or that you are wrong to believe otherwise. Because it's your faith, your patch to God. And, if you are confortable with your ideas, if that's how you develop your Relationship with a Bigger Force, I applaude.

these are just the hypothesis which humans have created several years ago......... and still following them!

There isn't any physical proof of Heaven either, but Christians believe in it. My belief in reincarnation is no different. Both rely on faith. And belief in reincarnation is more than just 'several' years old. It's an ancient belief.

The idea of an afterlife or reincarnation are illogical fantasies aimed at soothing the human mind concerning the finality of death.

It makes internal sense within the myth of Christianity, I guess. It does not, however, resonate with the world I find myself in.

Dead people are just dead. I have never seen anything that would lead to think otherwise. Nor have I seen anything that leads me to believe a God is involved. Folks are born, live die and are no more. Simple, elegant and logical.

There are many things that are real that you have never seen and will never see. That has no meaning in and of itself. That we are here for a reason and not just by accident seems more likely and more logical than to believe there is no reason or purpose behind our existence. We are the same as a bug or a rock and have the same destiny. That does not seem more logical and certainly there is no elegance about it.

There are many things that are real that you have never seen and will never see. That has no meaning in and of itself. That we are here for a reason and not just by accident seems more likely and more logical than to believe there is no reason or purpose behind our existence. We are the same as a bug or a rock and have the same destiny. That does not seem more logical and certainly there is no elegance about it.

Why, exactly? Without quoting a bible, demonstrate to me that human life has "meaning" (as opposed to bugs and rocks) apart from what humans give it.
