Advice on whats going on

Hello everyone,
thank you if you are taking time to read this, so i belive i became a born again christian in 2020 year, at the beginning it was such a good walk with God, i loved God and i saw such a huge change in my life after i belived and repented, my depression was almost gone, i was nicer to my mom, my desires changed, i remember how i felt Gods presence in me,

then in 2021 its like everything stopped, my depression is back, eating disorder is also worse, i started to be irritated and impatient towards my mom, i dont feel Gods presence, its like my love for Him and heavenly things is much lesser then before, when i look at my life i dont see any fruit, i dont feel repentance, so i have a lot of reasons to be worried, and it has been like this for months MONTHS (jun, july, august, september, october, november, december, january) even though i belive it started before january

Im losing hope...what do i do? Yes I read Bible and worship and fast but im stuck in this and dont know how to get out, i already prayed abt this, please if somebody had a experience like this or has any advice let me know.

What we can perceive and understand what hope we have in Christ? This is what we have heard:

“Let Israel hope in the LORD:
For with the LORD there is mercy, And with him is plenteous redemption.

And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭130:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So we hope in Christ, for with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is plenteous redemption. And He shall redeem us as spiritual Israelites from all our iniquities.

So how we hope in Christ? This is what we have heard:

“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭130:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

In His word we do hope !

Beloved one, let us recall to our minds the words that Christ speaks to us, therefore have we hope.

If we have hope, we no longer will be despondent and dejected or have depression, but our spirits or hearts will be encouraged by His word. With the hope of Christ, we will have courage.

Beloved one, let our hearts be lifted up by His word.

Beloved one, we who walk in the Spirit, should not walk in the lust of flesh. If we walk in the lust of flesh, we are not walking in the Spirit. So we should not do what we wish, that is, we should not walk according to the flesh.

How we can we walk not according to the flesh ? This is what we have heard:

“For those who identify with their old nature set their minds on the things of the old nature, but those who identify with the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.

Having one’s mind controlled by the old nature is death, but having one’s mind controlled by the Spirit is life and shalom.”
‭‭Romans (Rom)‬ ‭8:5-6‬ ‭CJB‬‬

Beloved one, so we should be concerned with our minds whether our minds identify with the old nature or with the Spirit.

How then we should identify with the Spirit and set our minds on the things of the Spirit?

This is what we have heard our Lord Jesus Christ Himself said:

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are Spirit, and they are life.”

Beloved one, so we who identify with the Spirit we identify ourselves with the words that Christ speaks to us. By identifying with the words that Christ speaks to us, we set our minds on the things of the Spirit or on the things that the words that Christ speaks to us.

Most or at least many new born believers have a huge up tick in spiritual activity that first 6 mo to a year, then you seemingly swim more on your own for a time but nothing has left you, you still have the Spirit to draw on but you need to get off milk and onto meat of the word of God. We see posts like yours all the time here, it's nothing new or unique to you. This is where the rubber meets the road, will you come out of the nest as a fledgling and flourish, you need the foundation built to find out that you even can. Will you seek Him all the more or was the seed thrown on dry ground ? This is a good time for Psalms, for foundations courses in bible study where you get into the book of John and Romans and Ephesians in the new testament. Thus you gain that assurance in positional truth that He never leaves us or forsakes us even if the walk seems quieted. We have times of huge spiritual growth, of huge spiritual awareness but also long droughts of quiet but other than perception , in the spirit nothing has changed, it's quiet time. Also tests come, trials come in our walk. Will we trust anyway is the question to answer.

Seems this happens periodically. Some refer to these times as wilderness experiences, pruning, or valleys. It's not easy but it's one way we become overcomers (Rom 8:37). One purpose is self examination. Sometimes things will be revealed that we need to take care of such as repentance and/or forgiveness of Yahweh, others, and ourselves.. Also, it makes us rely on Yahweh more such as He is our rock (Psa 71:3). We'll realize more about His Word. When doubt comes, we can immediately replace those thoughts with His truth such as My spirit believes Your Word Lord (John 6:63). I trust You and Your Word (Psa 119:42), Your Word is truth (Psa 119:160), I praise You (Psa 119:7).

Also, during these times, some Scriptures will take on deeper meaning such as I Thess 5:18 "In every thing give thanks:.." We"re acknowledging God is good no matter what is going on. These times are not easy and last for varying lengths. Encourage you to just continue to thank Him, hallow His name, read His Word, etc. After this period, one thing for sure the end result will be - you will be even stronger in Him because He promises, He'll draw close to you-

"Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you." James 4

As a baby gets weaned off their mothers milk and have to learn to stuggle first to crawl and then stand up and stumble and then walk the comfort of life changes as we mature. I've heard over and over so many times about people who feel this wonderfulness after getting saved and they end up essentially addicted to this wondrous high that they get and when it is gone they fall apart. You are taking the first steps in a walk of faith as in order to have faith in God you have to trust in him instead of trusting in what you feel as feelings can betray us.
If you read in the Bible where Jesus was tested in the desert we are constantly tested in life so to speak in that in order for us to grow in faith and be able to withstand that attacks of the enemy on us in our lives we have learn from that experience and be..... attacked. Jesus (as God) came down to earth and was born and grew up as a man so he could absolutely experience humanity and be able to absolutely be able to understand and sympathize with us that is why at times we have trouble in life, and most of the time the trouble is due to the sin condition in the world. We are to be champions over sin and lift others up with our experience overcoming it.
God doesn't expect us to do miracles but he wants us to grow stronger in him not only for our benefit but for others that he deeply loves that are either unbelievers or baby Christians.

What you are going through is IMO normal and there will be times of feast and famine in this "feeling" of connection with God. Be very thankful you feel him so gloriously as many don't ever have that feeling they have to struggle.
I rarely feel God in my life like you have I just have to struggle through and trust in him.

God never leaves you, but it is time for you to learn to start crawling in the Lord now and get out of the comfort of being nurtured in a cradle and take a few bumps when you struggle to get up.

Teaching has been Jesus’ ministry, that He has been ministering to us His covenant, which was established on better promises.

Let us hear again what Jesus has taught:

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So Christianity to those whom have been given, they know the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven.

As Jesus continued that He said:

“For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

So whosoever have the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, to him
more will be given, and he will have abundance of the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven.

Why Jesus was concerned that He taught, that we have these mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven ?

For we heard thereafter Jesus said:

“Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive;

For the hearts of this people have grown dull. Their ears are hard of hearing, And their eyes they have closed, Lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn, So that I should heal them.’”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:13-15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If we have the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven and continue to have abundance of the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, the eye and ear of our hearts will understand and perceive, that our hearts turn so that Jesus should heal us.

So we perceive and understand that the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven is not for intellectual edification but for our healing.

Let us have these mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, that the Lord gave, for the abundance of the mysteries of kingdom of Heaven bring healing to our hearts, that we may be blessed.

Beloved one, have the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, so that Jesus should heal your heart out of depression.

Have you found anyway to serve others? Former President Jimmy Carter and his wife volunteered to help build houses for the poor with Habitat for Humanity. He is blessed to have lived long and prospered. He is 97 years old. He was married in 1946 when he was 24 yrs old, 75 years ago. Before he became President he was a naval officer, Governor of Georgia, and a peanut farmer. His parents owned a peanut farm and warehouse. Jimmy Carter was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize.

I have always been heavily resistant to the use of medications for myself personally for what I perceive to be spiritual attitude issues (pretty sure I was misperscribed some things years ago), but got to a point after a year that I visited a doctor again and gave a full account and got a new perscription. So... after a full and honest discussion I'm trying that again (one I haven't tried before), and I have to say it is making a positive difference so far which I am grateful for.

Welcome to CF. In the beginning you said you "loved" God.
He tests your love for Him continually. True love can not be broken. His Holy Spirit dwells in every believer. Sometimes we doubt and question Him .
This is " quenching" His Holy Spirit. True Love for our Father is the catalyst that keeps us on the narrow road of righteousness. Go back to your first Love.

Hi Jelena,

Jesus said that in this world we would have tribulation, trouble & trials, but that that we should not despair over it because he has overcome the world. In other words, we should keep our eyes on him; not on ourselves.
God has given us a great treasure; the Gospel. This present life with all of its trials, is not our hope; the Gospel is our hope.
When we believe the Gospel for our salvation, we become children of God. We are forgiven & made righteous in God's eyes through Christ, changed by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and sanctified. Sanctified means that God has a purpose for our lives. He wants us to live for Him and serve others.
One way I strive to serve others is to search websites like this one looking for people who are struggling with their faith or for those who are seeking answers about how to become a Christian. Doing that gets my mind off of "me" and on the needs of others. Most of the time I find that strategy to be very rewarding especially whenever I have been successful in helping someone find assurance & the peace that only God can give them.
You might adopt that strategy for yourself for in doing so you might be helping yourself as well as helping others.

You're losing hope in what though?

God is always with His children, even if you can't feel His presence. God is omnipresent, and never changing. That means He is with you at all times, and can hear you at all times.

When you're first saved God gives you a lot of feelings of confirmation, but then weans you off of them. You know He exists. You know He can hear you, and you know He is always present with you. These are facts that cannot change.

Feelings can change like the wind. God wants you to grow from a solid foundation, that which cannot be blown away.

He's given you the confirmation of existence and of your salvation. Now grow into a more mature Christian, and make sure you're growing out of the solid foundation He laid for us all.

To become a "born again" saint (redeemed 'child of God'), one MUSt make the Lord Jesus their Savior and Lord of their life; as John 3; John 14; Romans 8; etc. tells us. Without this personal relationship with the Lord Jesus in our heart and daily walk, we have only a religious philosophy --see John 14:6; etc. That philosophy people develop is not the needed 'new birth' God tells us.
Keep in mind that Satan (the "bequiler") always works to deceive us and make us think ungodly things. We must take God at His Word, and tell Satan to "get thee behind me", as Jesus did to him. Are you reading the four Gospels to learn of salvation and promise of Heaven; and the Epistles also to learn of what the universal Church on earth in every city should be ---which it presently is not due to sectarian ideas of men. Let us be taking "all the counsel of God" and as "rightly dividing the Word of truth" as He tells us. For me things to know not wonder or guess or doubt no matter who I feel hear or see is.. He is never against you He is always for you. He will never condemn you. Oh think on that one allot. How does GOD aka your Father think and see you? I know how I see myself and its not good.. very bad yet GOD sees you in right standing with Him "righteousness". Yeah you are holy and righteous because you BELIEVE IN JESUS! Its not how GOOD you are its what CHRIST already did.

You might not understand this but whats going on in your life shows you GOD is all over you and the enemy is trying to steal it. What does His word say about you? NOT how you feel or what you see. He said to YOU "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

He also said the JOY of the lord is your strength. You have the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. You are strong in the lord in the power of His might. You put on the whole armor of God. I can keep going but do you see? Its not you its ALL HIM! See we always tend to focus on what we are not doing right and the sin. See HE started something in you... He not you HE will finish it! Let Him. How? Stop focusing on the sin or what your not doing and just keep your eyes mind your heart on HIM! HE IS REAL! You are so loved...

Did you know everything was made as if you were the only one that would believe.If you out of billions were the only one...oh this makes me cry.. He would have came just for you. In heaven you will be standing there and look over at Him and.. why is He only looking at me.. as if I am the only one He sees...you are since He is the GREAT I AM.. you are the most important one to Him...yet He does this for each one of His Children.

So speak His word.. say fear pops up. Right in the fear NO GOD has not given me the spirit of fear but of power love and a sound mind. Speak His word.. ALWAYS no matter how we feel hear see. Walk by FAITH! He told you with His arms wide open..I WILL NEVER EVER LEAVE YOU OR FORSAKE YOU! So FLIP the lies the enemy is saying. God will never tell you those thoughts. So flip them. Satan/demons fallen angels can only LIE!
