Advent Talk, as is also Christian Forums, is a positive board to those willing to abide by the rules.
By the way, CF also forbids the public discussion of CF Staff decisions and actions. I also don't think CF would be favourable to CF staff decisions and actions being publically discussed against in forums outside of CF as the staff decisions and actions of AT is being discussed here.
No problem with the first, a forum choice,(their right) but in regards to the second? You don't think so? I see no rules forbidding this, and even if CF forbade it how could they stop it?
Some of us remember the 3abn discussions on Blacksda and how those who spoke against other forums and owner, or moderater actions were plainly told by Calvin the owner that he did not welcome that on his forum and they would need to go address it elsewhere, he never once said anyone couldn't go somewhere else and complain about either himself, his administrators, or his forum, or anyone else. He never said a word, or made any rules forbidding it, or punished even one member for doing so. He understood he only controlled himself and what happened in his property.
I am sorry, but you Daryl don't seem to understand that. You allowed your Pickle and Joy group to freely complain about BSDA, you have allowed that on your very own forums, and by your silence and lack of action ( and participation?) you have condoned that and given your permission for that on both MSDAOL and the Advent Talk forums which you own and control.
Yet you, as owner and admistrater of those forums have made rules trying to squelch complaints and words and posts about yourself, your admistraters, and their actions and your forum modus operandi which are not even made on your forums, but elsewhere. You have responded to such and have made threats about that here in this very thread about this and even followed through on them as in my example, for just one. So I apologize but I have to seriously question where your heart and head is in this.
In my experience in most forums., there is information, explanations and answers given, and a resolution process. In the past, before the voting here and you becoming a moderator I had a good experience and communication ( prompt answers and explanations and understanding) with the moderators here, and had many of my friends tell me the same. Even when they were warned or had posts edited or removed, and might not agree with why, they still felt it was all being done fairly and the standards used being applied equally to those on both sides of the issues, thus they had no complaints, nor did I.
I haven't been here too much except to read periodically since the voting, so I hope and pray it is still the same.
But, Daryl the reason I am posting here, and the one thing I would like for you to consider is what Hairy said so much more eloquently and concisely than I is
IF the same could be said about your forums, then any problems would be being addressed there, and there would be no need to go elsewhere, no need to bring it up elsewhere, no need for for your rules and punishments for doing so, or your inability to answer pms, reports, emails and even public posts. Those who complained about you or your forums or rules and administration of them would merely be axe-grinders not able to support their arguments except with their own ire and self justifications and unsupported accusations, that would not be given any credence except by other axe-grinders, and would really amount to nothing (for the bitter and the miserable always welcome and invite company.)
I pray you can understand what I am saying here, and that I have expressed it adequately.
