I always find it amusing when you demand proof for claims being made.


Anyway. One need only look at the wait sheets of adoption agencies. These are the children who have been waiting for adoptive parents for over a year. The average age (in my state) is 12, less than 5% are Caucasian, between 50 and 60% suffer from some form of handicap and/or learning disorder. My friend, an adoption social worker, says while there are no clear numbers she suspects up to half of these children have been sexually abused.

A single gay person may apply to adopt but in most states GAY COUPLES may not apply to adopt a child and in many jurisdictions a same-sex partner is not allowed to petition to adopt a partner's child.

That is true. The laws and policies are not fair for children, but there are ways for gay people to adopt, which benefits children.

For people reading this message, please do not listen to it. HUman life is a very important thing and when you think of it, 8 months is not a long time compared to a whole lifetime. Do not listen to this woman.. If you kill the child it will be on your back for the rest of your life(and all eternity). Do you want your conscious to tear you apart everyday because you killed your own child?? If people seriously think the better alternative is killing the baby and throwing it in the trash then they seriously have problems deep down.. Don't get trapped into it, don't give into the temptations of Satan..Anyone who dosen't value the life of an innocent child dosen't deserved to be listened to.. Ignore them and decide what you want to do when your child is born.. The child has a right to live as does everyone else..

I don't agree with this post. It's up to each individual woman to make her own choice. No one else should be telling people what choice to make, and strangers should keep their noses out of women's personal choices.

A Child's Waiting, a private adoption program, shows their results. The obvious trend is for young white babies. The older the children, the fewer that are adopted. Many hundreds of teenagers are in the foster care system. And you STILL have not responded to my post, and now FaithLikeARock's, about statistics that show that there are indeed MANY children who go un-adopted and that the trend of adoption is towards healthy, white, babies.

And secondly if adoption agencys were funded better and the time of the waiting lists lessened there would be an increase in adoption

Steezie did you even read the percentages? There are more WHITE children in foster homes than blacks..In the 2000 year statstics that is listed it shows 1 million 586 children were adopted in that year alone..

If you want to use people like me as a reason to not abort, then you'd better be prepared to hear our opinions on the matter. You can't just say "Oh, don't abort! Have the baby for the sake of the millions of women who want to have babies but can't!" and then yell "Quiet you..." when one of those millions of women speak up and say that they don't want to be the reason somebody stays pregnant when they don't want to be. Otherwise, it sounds like you're just trying to use guilt, humiliation, and shame and not sound fact to get your way in other people's lives, which would be controlling, ego-meniacle, and very morally disgusting.

I assume that this mean you park yourself in the 'conservative' side of the political spectrum. Let me give this to you to chew on:

It matters not one whit whether you personally would get an abortion. You are talking about giving the government the authority to govern a facet of the private lives of over half the population. How does this reflect on the conservative ideal of personal accountability, limited government influence on our lives, and deregulation?

I have quite a bit of respect for the dignity of life. I can see the dignity of a heroin addict making the decision to abort even though she would like to keep the child. I have seen the moral anguish of a deeply religious friend abort a child that would only live a few weeks had she brought it to term.

Do not be so condescending. These are not statistics. These are people. And, frankly, I think that you loss sight of that in your idealistic zeal. You are trying to tell people that you have never met to live their lives how you would live them.
