The "written record" as you call it are the words written by man. As you state, no one knows for sure what their motivations were for sure in what they wrote etc.. We do know, the NT specifically (the gospels) were not penned until 40+ years after Jesus died and by UNKNOWN authors. We also know the originals do not exist and only copies of copies of copies starting about the 2nd century. Scholars have also shown, some stories in the gospels did not exist in the oldest copies available and some were added centuries later.

All in all, the "written record" you speak of, does not promote a high degree of confidence in scholars and historians as to it's historical reliability.
They don't need confidence when they have faith, faith can move mountains and allow them to believe anything.

Hitler was also the world's most infamous vegetarian!

I keep forgetting that. I have a mostly vegetarian brother, on special occasions he will eat meat. Something to tweak him with in the future.

Hmm, I wonder how many deaths can be attributed to vegetarians compared to their percentage of the population. Perhaps we can prove that vegetarianism is evil:D

Hitler was not always a vegetarian. He ate meat in the 1930s. He probably went through stages of veggie. In the early 1940s he did claim to be vegetarian but of course Hitler never lied did he? <sarc

Fulfilled prophecies in the Bible are a powerful testimony to believers of the truth of the Scriptures.

So much so, that we can agree with Paul, when he says:

1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

What fulfilled prophecies?

I never said we didn't know what was inside the minds or motivations of the writers. I said outside of the written record they and their contemporaries left us, we don't know. The written record does not support your imaginative assumptions as to their motivations.
Nor does it support yours.

Or do you support genocide, slavery, and raping children?

What fulfilled prophecies?

1 Kings 13:2 And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee.

2 Kings 23:15 Moreover the altar that was at Bethel, and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he brake down, and burned the high place, and stamped it small to powder, and burned the grove.
2 Kings 23:16 And as Josiah turned himself, he spied the sepulchres that were there in the mount, and sent, and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burned them upon the altar, and polluted it, according to the word of the LORD which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these words.

Yes yes, you can cut and paste bible verses. I am aware of that.

What bible prophecies were fulfilled?

You keep saying biblical prophecies have been fulfilled. I keep asking what they are. You have yet to supply even one.

So yeah, it get's a bit silly after a while.

How about the Old Testament verses that foresaw the rise and fall of the Babylonian, Medo-Persian, Greek and Roman empires.

What verses, and how were they fulfilled?

I can make a prediction right now about China: It will rise, and it will fall.

That only shows your ignorance of the prophecy. Can you name four successive empires each of which succeeds one of the others in power.

Isaiah 46:9-10 (ESV)
remember the former things of old;
for I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like me,
10 declaring the end from the beginning
and from ancient times things not yet done,
saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,
and I will accomplish all my purpose,’

When you look at the most prominent christian apologist who is in the debate world; William Lane Craig, he never uses prophecies when he makes a case for christianity or God. You know why? Because he knows he would be destroyed by his opponent, because the creative interpretations some christians use to state prophecies have been fulfilled, have been debunked.

I fully admit my ignorance regarding biblical prophecies, I didn't know there were any. That is why I am asking you what they are.

Again, could you please provide the appropriate verse, and the prophecy that was fulfilled? Thank you.

Then you should have no problem debunking them. Have at it.

I did. I gave you Daniel 8.

While I appreciate your honesty concerning your not knowing there are prophecies in the Bible, how can you dismiss a book which you clearly have not read? The fulfilled prophecies are just one of the things which convinced me of the truth of the Bible.

If you are familiar with Biblical prophecy as it concerns the nation of Israel, you will see in the recent history of the nation of Israel, especially since it was reborn as a nation in 1948, prophecy being fulfilled in today's headlines.

Isaiah 66:8 (ESV)
Who has heard such a thing?
Who has seen such things?
Shall a land be born in one day?
Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment?

Actually, I read the bible cover to cover when I was about 11 or 12 years old. I loved reading, still do. :)

Reading the bible is what convinced me the God of the bible probably didn't exist, and I became an atheist. That was a long time ago, nearly 1/2 a century.

And no, I don't see the connection between the verse you quoted, and the four specified civilizations rising and falling. That's why I asked for exact verse and how it was fulfilled.
