Free,

You mention John's text about "if you love Me keep my commandments." Which commandments was John referring too?
I believe Sophia has just addressed ALL of the passages in John's writings where he refers to 'commandments'. I'll try to find it and give you the link. It will be easier than typing them all out myself again.

Here's a taste-test though:
1Jo 3:23 "And this is his commandment: We must believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as he commanded us."
You can begin to see why the commands of Christ were not considered burdensome when compared to the commands given to Israel which put them into bondage (according to Paul and the record of them continually breaking the covenant/10 C's).

In Christ alone...

Would this just be referring to the Two commandments that Jesus gave us? Love God. Love our neighbors.

Of course you know that I am going to follow this up with that He was summing up the Ten Commandments into two general statements.

Which one of the two 'greatest commandments' Jesus quoted commanded the Christian church to believe in the name of the Son, Jesus Christ?

As far as any 'summing up' goes, the fact that the whole law (not just the 10) 'HUNG' on the two commands Jesus quoted doesn't mean the law/covenant as it was given to Israel is binding on the Christian church.

So was I, but I know for a fact they have not rejected truth (Jesus IS the truth!). In fact, quite the opposite!

Please show me any formers who are trying to get others to reject Jesus Christ. I'd like to address them personally!

Who was it that said I am the way, the truth and the light? :)

Oops, sorry - I think I copied the wrong quote. But Jesus did say that, didn't He?

Resting with Jesus on His Sabbath is a burden? Nope--but the sacrifices and ceremonies sure were.

He sure did Annie--and when He kept the Sabbath and showed US how to keep it, He was demonstrating that He is the WAY, the LIFE and the Truth.

I hope you're not serious. :p Why would we go from one group with some unbiblical beliefs that are divergent from mainstream Christianity to another group with even more unbiblical and divergent beliefs?

Of COURSE I was not serious. I know it was the LATTER-DAY SAINTS you guys joined! :D

Are you doing ALL that Jesus did, or is it only certain things?

All that is recorded or that is permitted!
When will you shed your blood willingly as an atoning sacrifice to save humanty?

When will you heal whole towns?

When will you go off into the wilderness and be tempted to turn stones to bread?

When will you suddenly appear and then disappear?

When will you be walking on the water?

Shall I go on?

We already asked if you are keeping Passover.

But you never answered. But if you are following the Adventist position you are not.

Yet Jesus kept it.

So doing it just because Jesus did doesn't seem to explain all that you are doing.

You must have some rationale for doing some but not all.

Maybe because they care about the people, not the organization. They know the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and recognize the additions to it and subtractions from it that they're SDA friends and family believe in. Maybe they want their SDA friends and family to see Jesus (only) without all the denomination/sectarian adornment added to Him. It's completely their business.

And that's quite a question coming from someone who represents a church whose main evangelistic efforts in the U.S. is to get Christians out of their churches and in to the SDA church (yeah, I've been to TOO many pastors meetings and listened to Mark Finley TOO much, and even read his book on just HOW to do it!)! Using your own argument/question, why would YOU care what goes on in all those other churches? Is it really any of YOUR business or concern?

In Christ alone...
Are you talking about the "Jesus Only" Pentecostals?
