Back to Basics:
OP: ADAM? When God had finished ALL of creation He saw that it was "good".(perfect!)
"DAY 6": Genesis:
31 God saw ALL that He had made (including A&E), and behold, it was VERY "good".
And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
Many read the above verse and falsely assume that God has already completed His work in the past. God would NEVER say that it was perfect/good unless it is and that won't happen until Jesus rules and reigns on Earth for a thousand years at the end of the present 6th Day/Age. THEN, God, who sees the end from the beginning, Isa 46:10 will see that it is Perfect, when ALL the host of Heaven (Christians) are safely in the Eternity of the 3rd Heaven. Gen 2:1 God Bless you
But if it was not seen as complete to God in the moment he thought it it could never be this.
Already there ...Sure it could, at the end of the present 6th Day of God's Labor. Today, the Day of Salvation, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are STILL creating Adam/mankind in Christ Spiritually. Gen 1:26 and John 14:16 God will NOT rest until His Heaven is finished, which in Hebrew means, brought to perfection. It's the SAME with ALL of God's works. In the end, they are brought to perfection or the perfect God didn't do the work. God's works always end in perfection.
God knew that His Creation would be complete at the end of the present 6th Day or period of labor, so He told us the entire HISTORY of His perfect Creation of the 3rd Heaven, in the first chapter of Genesis. We live today at Gen 1:27 because God continues to make Eternal Christians out of mortal people. Just ask ANY Gospel preacher. The prophecy of Gen 1:28-31 happens AFTER Jesus returns at Armageddon.
When the 3rd Heaven is filled with ALL of its "host" or inhabitants, God's Work of building a perfect physical heaven and filling it with perfect people, made perfect in Christ, will finally be finished/brought to perfection and God will rest (Heb-cease creating) from ALL of His labor. Gen 2:1-3 God doesn't get tired and need 24 hours of rest from ALL of His works in the beginning. God rest is where He will cease and celebrate with ALL Christians at the end of the present 6th Day/Age. We will enter His rest, which is Eternity, on the 7th Day, which has NO morning and NO evening, NO beginning and NO end. Join us? God Bless you
But if it was not seen as complete to God in the moment he thought it it could never be this.
But God does not labor to bring forth, it is our own thinking that leads us to this, just as it led Sarah to this, or the woman to a tree.
Since I consider 'work' as labor, I'm going to need clarification from you...again. Since it is God who "scourgeth EVERY SON whom He loves", so I'd say God was, and still is, working. A position confirmed with scripture.
JOH 5:17 But Jesus answered them, "My Father is working still, and I am working."
I know He is resting from His creation works of Genesis 1 and 2, but He is not idly sitting by now in the process of bringing all things to completion/perfection/maturity IMO.
PHI 2:13 for God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
Isaiah 6:1-6...when I had this epiphany as Isaiah did, things changed/transformed to a whole new reality and Psalm 36:9 became experiential Truth in my/His LIFE. I entered HIS rest.God does not have to labor by thought to be.
It says those who have entered into his rest have ceased from all their labor ...
Jesus said take no thought ...
So if we (therefore) strive to enter into that rest, do we do this by the labor of thought ... Jesus also said we could add nothing to ourselves by thought, contrary to a serpents two cents worth.
Isaiah 6:1-6...when I had this epiphany as Isaiah did, things changed/transformed to a whole new reality and Psalm 36:9 became experiential Truth in my/His LIFE. I entered HIS rest.
We are on a journey...following the footsteps of Jesus Christ. If we are truly following that path, then TRUTH will prevail and we enter that rest as promised. All the promises become true and real in THIS LIFE...while still walking on earth. Jesus Christ said it many times, many ways, "The Kingdom is within you."
Luke 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Jesus does not say it is a future event...but "IS within you." You just have to SEEK and find it, have it revealed by the spirit of Truth...as promised. Oh so many scriptures tell us it is hidden...and where does Jesus say it is?? Our minds/thoughts lead us off onto many rabbit trails and off The WAY Jesus tells us to follow.
There are "two" within us - spirit and flesh...and the two must become ONE...IN HIM...for their is only ONE who can see the things pertaining to what Jesus saw and spoke from The Father. That same spirit of Christ...but we must become blind to see. The first Adam, (before Eve was taken from within his very body and placed outside) saw things only ONE way...then he became two (flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone)...a separation of the one man, Adam to become Adam and Eve. One became two. Then it is said the two shall become ONE. Jesus Christ (the Bridegroom) calls to the Bride...and the two shall become ONE flesh (again) like in the beginning. Reconciliation. Restoration.
Genesis 3:6-7 Their perception was changed...both their eyes were opened. Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23 But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
We must be so careful and not allow our minds to try and fill in the blanks and build a false picture of what Jesus is truly telling and showing us by example. It is so important to allow the Spirit of Truth guide us to what HE has to reveal on the whole picture. Remember, it is the spirit (and the bride!) that says come...the mind has other thoughts...
Indeed
Something that will validate Christianity once and for all
Something to put an end to the way things are currently done
In the story or myth told in Genesis, Adam and Eve are archetypes for humanity. They are not necessarily understood to be literal. In fact, I would argue that, as archetypal figures, they are not literal persons.
When God had finished all of creation he saw that it was good.
To implie that Adam was not perfect is to say that God's judgement of creation was imperfect and that God is not capable of making a sound judgement.
What God saw was the best of all possible worlds, and what we see as the best, is probably not at all even close to the same thing. How can the finite understand the infinite? "Who can know the breadth and the depth of the wisdom and knowledge of God?"When God had finished all of creation he saw that it was good.

No God saw that it was Good. That is what God told Mosses to write. What God saw was the best of all possible worlds, and what we see as the best, is probably not at all even close to the same thing. How can the finite understand the infinite? "Who can know the breadth and the depth of the wisdom and knowledge of God?"
How are we disagreeing? No God saw that it was Good. That is what God told Mosses to write.
To say something else is the finite questioning what the infinite has said that it did.
It says in Genesis 1:31, "God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day".
The fact that everything that God created was "very good", can only mean that Both Adam and Eve were "without sin", as sin did not enter the world till Genesis chapter 3, at which time both man and woman fell because of their disobedience to God, and their obeying the lies of the devil.
Why do you think it didn't? The punishment for sin is death and before the sin, Adam and Chavah (Eve's biblical name) were not to die. But as soon as they sinned, a clock began to tick, their bodies began to break down, and eventually they succumb to wage of sin. The only reasonable explanation is that something changed inside of them and that something was passed on to all who would follow. How come Eve's sin didn't affect her genetically?
