In Genesis it is written that God created men and women, and does not exactly mention them and say that they were good. So were they destroyed followed by God making man from the Earth directly? The previous by evolution?

Gen 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. ...

Adam was VERY GOOD, even he can sin. So are we.

If you read your High School Biology book you can start to understand that Eden was a bio-diverse Ecosystem. There are many many ecosystems in the world. Of course Eden was very unique in that we are talking about domesticated plants and animals, so this was a very unique ecosystem. It is amazing what Moses was able to accomplish. He saved the plants and animals but all the people were destroyed.

Also we read about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Science understands a little bit of how our brain has evolved to be able to make choices between right and wrong good and evil. This is what is known as the consciousness. Neuroscience performs operations on every area of the brain so they understand the brain enough to know what the effect will be from their surgery. So now we understand better just what sort of evolution the brain was going though 6,000 years ago at the time farming began and the beginning of civilization.

Adam was the first or the beginning of many, many, many things. You are correct that he was the first MAN and EVE the first women. But I have not meet anyone that can tell you the difference between a man and a male or a women and a female. They think they are the same but they are not. Although we have songs that talk about a real men and real women.

I am not sure if there was any marriage before Adam and Eve, they had extended families back then and for the most part we do not see extended families that much today.
