Ricky Maddow -- Another Blatant LIAR caught in Blatant Lie!

So, that's the state of the news channel in America. At the right, you have Fox News and conservative radio hosts more than happy to misinform their audience and a conservatives audience that believe naively that those are credible sources of information. At the left, you have hosts trying to use the same tactics with all the same issues you get at the right.

This shouldn't be a debate about the left and right. It should be about the sad state of the news business in America and how it's damaging your democracy.

Yeah I am always impressed by their positive reporting of the Tea Party movement.

As far as I know, they haven't tried entrapment yet.

I don't know what their reporting is like, whether the newscasters are given talking points by management or not - I've only seen their talking head editorial clowns.

Which is why everyone should be very very careful where you get your sources of news from.

Why are we spending so much time defending/defaming our favorite talking heads/news channels whenever we, as (hopefully) intelligent people, just need facts to form our own opinions on issues, and we can discuss our own thoughts?

Actually I do find it wrong, but your assumption is that Maddow is agreeing with everything someone has said, rather then the context of the conversation they were having.

The unedited tapes show the ACORN workers calling the police and the "pimp" not dressed as a pimp but rather in a suit and tie. Neither of those things appear in the edited version. Sorry the unedited tapes tell a different story that the edited version.

You seem to be operating under the delusion that creative editing can't be used to tell a very different story than what really happened.

You claim that Brown is untrustworthy, but it is the person who taped and editted the incidents that was arrested for tampering with the phones of a US Senator. It's obvious that who you find trustworthy is not based upon the actions of the people, but whether or not they believe the same things you do.

The issue here is Fox News hosts manipulating information to mislead their audience. If you can provide an example of Maddow distorting the facts I would be glad to look at it but this is not a case of that.

Why does anyone watch that show?

Ms. Maddow could write this off as a matter of semantics, but it goes deeper than semantics. Anyone who reads the full report from the Attorney General’s office will see that the way the videos were edited has no bearing on whether the AG office found evidence of any criminal behavior. The reason the ACORN employees were cleared of aiding and abetting criminal behavior was ultimately, that O’Keefe and Giles were only pretending to commit crimes. You can’t aid and abet criminal behavior if there is no actual criminal behavior. And the release of the unedited videos had nothing to do with that legal conclusion.

But, Rachel Maddow had a story to tell. And all of these things that she concealed from her audience contradicted her story. So she left it out and showed what she needed to show to convince her audience that ACORN had been wronged and O’Keefe and Giles had deceived the world. I wonder how many people actually bought it?
