Really? What is this evidence? When I have asked this question in the past people that have made that claim have only demonstrated that they do not understand the concept of evidence.

You know, it's strange. If you offer a Christian $50 to bow down before a statue of the Buddha, they will refuse and take offense. And yet somehow the ancient Jews apparently saw God perform miracles right before their eyes and they still worshipped other gods. King Solomon was the wisest man in history and spoke to God in a dream, yet he allowed his wives to make altars to other gods.
Why? Are modern Christians smart and were ancient Jews stupid? Or maybe they believed in many gods back then and just favored Jehovah, like characters in Game of Thrones.

Archeology, all documented evidence of the death, burial, and resurrection from Jewish and Roman historians. The evidence that the Bible is true. This is all overwhelming evidence.

At best there is only some evidence that Jesus existed. It is not very strong. You could not even mention specific examples. Right now you appear to be putting Jesus in the same category as Spiderman.

That only supplies very weak evidence that Jesus the man existed. By your standards Buddhism is true since there is comparable evidence that he existed. Evidence for the existence of Jesus is hardly evidence for your religion.

believe or don't believe that is your choice. You will bow before Christ. I would encourage you to watch the documentary The Case for Christ which has all the historical evidence your looking for.

No, The Case for Christ appears to only be a series of bad arguments. You claimed there was overwhelming evidence for Christianity. At best you have only demonstrated a lack of understanding of what is and what is not evidence.

GOD is before all these myths and distortions of the TRUTH...and these myths and suggestions and distortions are simply the work of satan who taught superstitious men, who knew of god but did not know GOD, how to practice divination, how to delve into spiritual realms...but the voice that they heard, were not GOD´S voice, but satan, who took the TRUTH and twisted it,
Satan knew THE TRUTH from the beginning too, he knew GOD´S plan from the beginning...but instead of speaking the TRUTH, he lied, and twisted and offered bits and pieces of the truth, so as to cause confusion and doubt...
Men think that myths (satanś work of deception and confusion) were before GOD, but all myths were were distortions of GOD´S TRUTH

It is a shame that brilliant men, don´t even consider this...
More likely because they deny spirits to begin with...they deny the truth of a spiritual realm and a spiritual battle going on right before them for the souls of men...their soul included...
I am sure that this man does this in ignorance...but think of how many he could steer away from the TRUTH of the GOSPEL...
I saw young men in the audience, Oxford/any college is our next generation of young adults.
What better place for satan to lay his perishable seed for death...

Well religion withtout a Deity seems a bit silly to me. Not really fits the definition of religion then? Oops, forgot about Scientology, no deity, somehow defined as a religion with IRS. Lobby anyone..?

Sure. But I was responding to Dr. Shermer's claim of "religions predating Christianity that also had a redeemer-God" and such. That field of study is historical, not scientific. It's the realm of scholars, not scientists.
