I was just thinking of how much english accents sound like a bunch of snakes. i thought of this before while listening to a choir sing and I started paying attention to the way they pronounce and use the letter "s" when speaking. snakes, i say.

How do Americans pronounce the letters s then? I'm confuzzed Unless of course you are thinking of parseltongue?

Oh boy. When I saw this thread at the top of the page I thought to myself, "oh bart, what bad things did you say about others this time" Anyway, if you listen to like a choir that sings. you will notice that they stress the "s" sound. the best example i can give is to tell you to say these words outloud. cystic cirrhosis. okay, see how you stressed the "s" in those words? to me, when there are a lot of words like that, they remind me of a sound a snake makes..ssssssssss

People have told me I sound Canadian. Possibly because I grew up on the Canadian border.

Ravi Zacharias accents a lot of his words by doing this too. After listening to him a lot, he may be doing that on purpose to emphasize what he is saying. IDK.

P.S. I'm glad smacarena posted in this thread. I'm going to enjoy reading over some of his past posts. That guy was hilarious.

I don't have a heavy Russian accent, but I did, ironically, start talking with a heavy Irish accent when I drank too much. I might still do; it's been a while since I was that drunk...

I will also start mimicking an accent when talking to someone with an accent. No idea why and it's subconscious.

Oh man, I've heard that's a sure fire way to the first step of mind control right there. I heard it from shady sources so it's probably bunk. I've been corrected on a few things of misinformation lately. One is that contrary to popular belief, the brain does reproduce its own cells. That's good news for people like me who've had their share of boozing and other recreational "activities".

Most English accents are nice but the North American English accent had steadily degraded since the 60's. The 21st century is the worst.
