Well, the bible, although explaining it as a paradise... does not exactly say what we do, only what it is. I suppose heaven would be viewed differently by the people in it on the basis of what they would expect heaven to be, in terms of the activities present.

However, I have never thought about it before...

I have a question,

What do we do in heaven?
I don't know what specific things we do but I can tell you that thanks to the grace of God whatever we do we will glorify God in our constant obedience. Our desires and our actions will be in perfect accordance with the righteousness of God because in our glorified state we will only obey Him.

My most accurate answer to your question would be that we glorify God in all our works, thoughts and desires.

God bless

Thanks for your replies guys,

I'm a new member, and it was my first post, so I wasnt sure if anyone would reply. This seems like a great place to learn and share knowledge or maybe just thoughts.

Thanks again!

Welcome to the boards brother,

If you think of it as; "what will we do", then you will naturally wonder things like; "will i get bored". But you have to realize, that it is more of a state of mind. boredom does not exist in a perfect place, nor does any negative emotion. Nothing unclean will enter heaven, so what we do really becomes irrelevant because of what we'll be. But whatever we will do, it will be holy, pure, and as reformationist said, to the glorification of God. Our actions will reflect our purified spirits.

Yes, I think whatever is to be in heaven will be far greater than our imaginings.

I think part of this predicament comes because we are looking up at heaven with a "down here" attitude and outlook, and the two cannot be looked at the same, earth and heaven. We wonder "geez, what am I going to do for eternity?" and "will I get bored?" but that is looking at it with an earth/time bound mentality, which we will not have up there.

What will we do in heaven? The bible does not specifically say. However, I personally believe that the closer in obedience we are to the LORD here on earth the greater the responsibility we will have in joint rulership with him in the universe. Rewards are greater for those who follow hard after him. Christians obedience will be rewarded in proportion to heavenly joint rulership, IMO.

AMEN and ditto!

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Use you imagination. It is going to be greater than Star Trek or anything you can imagine....!!

Individuals are taken to heaven for a specific purpose and it is clearly outlined in scripture.

Revelation 14:1-3
And I saw, and, look! the Lamb standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a sound out of heaven as the sound of many waters and as the sound of loud thunder; and the sound that I heard was as of singers who accompany themselves on the harp playing on their harps. 3 And they are singing as if a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one was able to master that song but the hundred and forty-four thousand, who have been bought from the earth.

Revelation 5: 8-10
And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”

They will make up the KINGDOM OF GOD that Jesus taught his followers to pray for at Matt 6:9,10
“YOU must pray, then, this way: “‘Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. 10 Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth.

They will rule with Christ for a Thousand years
Revelation 20:6
Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and will rule as kings with him for the thousand years.

Restoring the earth to the original paradise and Mankind back to perfection thus fulfilling God’s original purpose, which has not and cannot change.

Genesis 1:28
Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”

Isaiah 55:10-11
For just as the pouring rain descends, and the snow, from the heavens and does not return to that place, unless it actually saturates the earth and makes it produce and sprout, and seed is actually given to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so my word that goes forth from my mouth will prove to be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it.
