So Christians are to have faith. Where is the line between that and common sense? I mean you have to make wise choices.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Who says there has to be a line? Personally I've never found a conflict between my faith and common sense. Common sense is part of faith.

Faith is trusting God, and following Jesus. There's no implication that faith is opposed to knowledge or to common sense.
Common sense is an interesting issue for Christians. Christianity teaches some things that we wouldn't otherwise believe: that God would die, that the way we respond to enemies is love. Because these are contrary to our natural feelings, common sense can't entirely be trusted. However a lot of Scripture requires common sense to understand. It is not symbolic logic intended to be interpreted by computers. To make sense of Jesus' teachings or Paul's letters, we have to use common sense, as well as knowing the background of the people to whom they were addressed and the overall theological context. So common sense is important. But we have to be alert to the places where the message contradicts common sense.

Yes? And? I just don't see the problem. I've read the Bible cover to cover, the New Testament several times. Jesus was the epitome of common sense.

In the prodigal son story (Luke 15: 11-32)
Jesus tells us the prodigal son came to his senses this is after he was as low as he could go (starving to death feeding pigs in a pigsty). Just because this young son came to his senses does not mean he automatically has the faith to trust in his Fathers love to the point of forgiving him and accepting charity from his father. Common sense at the point the prodigal son came to his senses could also be telling him: Your just getting what you totally deserve, you need to be a real man and accept your punishment, you do not need to bother your father any more, think about what your older brother will say do you want him to have more ammunition to put you down, and we had our fun, so now we have to pay.
