• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

If you would of asked me this just under a year ago I would of said, it's a woman's choice, there's nothing wrong with abortion. But now I believe it's wrong. I don't condemn anyone who's had one or about to have one because I have had an abortion before and it's not my place to judge. But now that I know that before God forms any of us in the womb He knew us, that tells me to abort a baby is killing one of God's children.

But I thank God for the blood of Jesus for covering all of our sins!!!

I definitely believe it is murder - nothing more and nothing less. That child is a life that God has created and any decision about whether to have 'it' (the child) or not, should have been made BEFORE the decision to have sex was made! And that is all I have to say about that.

a gynecologist friend of mine has shown me once a picture of a female egg and a spermatozoa penetrating it. in another pic she told me that "this" was a fertilized egg.

i looked at the pictures: there was a round thing - the egg - it looked like body cells as we see them in pictures. nothing special.................

then i thought ... this is the beginning of a new life... it is a tiny little thing that is not dead. if it was dead it would not develop and grow.

it is something alive that i cannot capture with my simple mind...

it is Life...

how can i stop Life...

especially when i was given the chance to live...

I am against abortion. I don't make a habbit of judging people for it, though, as I don't know their individual circumstances, but I would never be a party to it, and if anyone ever asked for my opinion, I'd be more than happy to tell them. ;)

I agree with you guys. I asked this question because it was a huge debate in my campus, I just wanna see what your guys' respond to this subject. Some people said that it's the women's choice, other said that "it's my body not yours, so get over it" and other stuff too. I agree with everyone of you. In my opinion, abortion is like murder even the baby isn't a human form yet.

I am against it when it is used as a means of birth control. I think that there may be times that it is appropriate, such as the mother's life being in danger, or a severly abnormal, damaged or disfigured fetus.

I am mostly against it. I don't think it is right to take another human llife, regardless of whether it came about of one's own actions. However, I know there are some women whose lives are jeopardized by a pregnancy. If she has to have an abortion to save her own life, I believe it is excusable at that point, but at the end of the day, any decision to have an abortion is between the mother and God.

I'm for it. The thing is, the law says that the parent or gaurdian is responsible for their child, so to me, the law says that it's okay.

Here's how I think abortions shoulb be treated:
A document should be signed by mother and bioligical father giving consent to abort the fetus. If it was a rape or the mother was unable to get a father signature, a police signed form. Because not all women get pregnant and actually want to have the baby, and I don't mean raise it, I mean give birth to it.

My problem with the conservative view of abortion, is that we have so many homeless children who are born into poverty right now, and the resources are not there to find them homes. What would happen to all the babies born into poverty if abortion were illegal?

We need to treat the "disease" instead of the "symptoms".

In my eyes its murder.
I couldnt possibly think of myself "killing" a child that
could have a future, If its hard bringing the child up, there is always adoption, at least you know the child will have a life... you can proberbly stay in contact.
If you where raped, dont take it out on the child for what the father did, there is a lot of strong single mothers out there not being ashamed, and getting stronger each day.
You can also get alot of support from alot of places, you just need to know where to look.
Im highly against it, and it is a hard decision, one that shouldnt even had to be thought about in my P.O.V, Its not only heart breaking for the mother if she does decide to do it, its also heart breaking for the fathers.
Thats proberbly not to clear, im just currently heavily tired, but i have alot more to say on abortion, i think its wrong...really wrong.

i believe abortion is totally wrong. those are children being killed, not just a "fetus" or whatever else this world tries to say they are. they are trusting the women carrying them to take care of them and nurture them, not jsut say "hey, i don't want you....here, let me take care of the problem." the bible says taht children are blessings from God. if the woman carrying them doesn't want them, they should look into adoption. there are so many families today who aren't able to have children of their own and would whole heartedly love to adopt and raise these children.

Killing for the sake of comfort....oh my.
We have a standard of living to uphold! ...
Im sorry, but you shouldnt be able to kill something that cannot consent to being killed. You dont know the next person that will be drawn out of poverty to serve a higher purpose. But theyll never get the chance if they get salted and pulled out of the womb.

interesting viewpoints here. thanks.

if you research partial birth abortion, it's pretty gruesome and inhumane. some say that the fetus? baby? can even feel the pain. I dont know much about it to comment myself.

i have heard that the fetus makes moves in the womb in order to avoid the abortion.

the fetus is a living organism.... it feels and it understands...

ask the children who have managed to escape an abortion and have knowledge about it...

:preach: Abortion is wrong. When women decide to abort I believe they are playing God which in itself is wrong. In fact what right does anyone have to play God. Besides Abortion is murder. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to judge anyone - each case of abortion and the reason/reasons behind the abortion is different.

PS Sorry if I have offended anyone :sorry:

I am anti-abortion because I feel this act is murder, life is not a mistake. Abortion and physician assisted suicide cheapen human life. Doctors are sworn to protect life, not end it... even a life. In the womb, the baby reacts to environmental stimuli and shares many of the physiological features that define human life. Furthermore, most mothers who had an abortion suffer a great deal of mental and/or physical anguish due to their "choice". Abortion is a "choice" that very few people can feel good about. Teach children to respect sex and the responsibility that accompanies it. It makes better sense to prevent teen and unplanned pregnancies by not taking part in actions that cause pregnancy.
