A woman knows when she is raped, and doesn't need the indignity of having to face a judge or jury to prove it.

Personally I think an extremely extremely hefty fine would be good, though others may think jail is appropriate...

Of course, I only say punish her if she did it for the sake of convience. If it was because she was raped or her life was in danger then I'd be appalled that she didn't have legal access to a abortion and I'd support her.

YOU ARE LAZY! I'm pro-choice my dear. BUT - there's a big difference in being pro-choice and pro-abortion. I believe that there are different circumstances for everyone. Abortion is not a black or white issue - there are shades of gray. Do I believe in abortion as a means of birth control? NO. Do I believe in abortion after the first trimester? NO. I have other things to say about it but to tell you the truth after everything I've had to deal with the past couple of days (which you know about) I can't go that deep into it. But I think you get the gist........ Btw, welcome back, you really were missed!

Remember, Biblically, even accidental abortion was considered sin and the penalty could be (and often was) death (Exodus 21:22-25). The bible gives no reason whatsoever for legitimate abortion... it is always a sin, even if on accident.

OK, I think I'm probably the last person to vote , but anyhoo! I voted 'None. Abortion is always wrong.' I believe that it is wrong because the baby (no matter how small or young it may be) is God's creation! He didn't create that baby by mistake. Abortion is murder if you ask me. Well, that's my opinion!

Emily think about it a little harder then, how can you possibly be against abortion, it is an incredibly stupid position to take. because if you make abotrion illegal than you have young girls in back ally's with coathangers doing it them selves. Which is incredibly dangerous, would it not be better that they are in a medically controled enviroment, such as a hospital?

Making criminals out of theses poor girls is a crime in its self.

Not to mention that the pro-poverty lobby's arguments fall down at the slightest push. Its all rhetoric, which is wrong anyway, "abortion is murder", actually no, its not. For it to be murder the fetus has to be alive, to be alive it must have a certain amount of brain activity, which until part way through the second trimester, does not actually occur. You cant kill what is not alive.

Well so do condoms, and all forms of contraception, and you really dont want to get rid of contraception, unless you want America to be like africa is now...

well.. regardless, your personal beliefs aside,I have a different view..
my wife's been pregnant 8 months now, & guess what? that thing you say isn't alive, has a heartbeat, it occassionally gets the hickups, & continually grows everyday... I saw the ultrasound, & saw my baby's little face. If that's not life ...what is??? where did you come from??? just out of curiosity..how many children do you have? & have you ever watched a baby being born?
If anything in this world is a miracle, it's the creation of a new life.

All else are red herrings. If you believe abortion is murder, then when is murder "acceptable"? Never.

And the "you're a male, you don't have a say" arguments are especially fallacious. My wife was raped months before we were wed, 24 years ago. Although I can't imagine the trauma she went through, no one can deny that a man, who loves such a person, doesn't feel the pain as well.

Four beautiful children later (no, she wasn't impregnated by the rape), we have discussed numerous times what we would have done, should she have become pregnant as a result of the rape. Never, never, did it occur to us to punish an innocent human by killing him/her, because he/she were the result of an unfortunate event.
